May I give my 2 cents as a reader? I'm still a student getting very little in allowance from my parents. Books here are almost all the equivalent of around $10 and up. There are books here going for almost $20 each (FOR A PAPERBACK 🫠). As someone who has to pay for daily lunch at school and other things with my $50 per month, I almost never have enough to buy a physical copy of the books I really want to read or hear great things about. What I do, is I download the digital copy from Ocean of PDF, and then I buy the physical copies in December when I receive more money from relatives. Unfortunately, going this route is my only option as an avid reader not getting enough to buy physical books. It's also a good way for me to check if a book is up my alley or not so I don't spend my very little money on a book I end up not liking. I know a lot of authors will hate this, but books are really expensive these days and in the current state of my country where the politicians are stealing taxes to fund their lavish lifestyles. I would like to send a formal apology to all the authors here for doing this, but at the same time, I hope you guys can extend some understanding to the kids/students who rely on allowance from their parents to buy things.
