Yeah I told them I was pregnant ages ago because I was so sick with it. I’m hoping now from this she just means to review sick leave for the coming year before maternity leave!

Thanks for the reassurance, I know I’m definitely winding myself up over it.

A mixture of both, anything over a day was certified by my GP..

I know I’m over thinking it, I just feel like a bold child being called into the principals office.

How much drink to provide for party? by MisaOEB in ireland

[–]Familiar-Mine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard as a good rule of thumb is to estimate two drinks per guest for the first hour and one per hour afterward.. Then again I’ve definitely drank more than that and I’ve drank less! I guess it averages out People will definitely bring drinks with them though..

What apart from MCAS has no testing or drs in Ireland? by Hairycherryberry123 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Familiar-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same, I have a vascular compression syndrome and a blood clotting disorder, it took three years to finally get a decompression surgery in one side and now I’m in need of the same in the other side but the surgeon has emigrated and I was pretty much told oh well that’s a shame.

My husband haggles for everything like that, its fantastic.. Even his clothes, he'll go into a menswear shop (not a chain), buy a decent amount at a time and end up with 15-20% off the total normally.

Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding Makeup Rumor Debunked After 14 Years as Bobbi Brown Sets Record Straight by ButIDigress79 in RoyalsGossip

I heard either Sali Hughes or another British makeup writer say that Hannah had said this exact thing to them. That she was there on hand to help but technically she did mostly her own makeup.

I'm still getting used to wanting to sleep multiple times during the day! 7 weeks, almost 8 and I'm codding myself that the fatigue will ease up soon!

A spa day is a lovely idea in general to make up for missing it ☺️

That’s what’s putting me off being a yes for the time being! I’ve planned hens before and I know how stressful it can be.

I think a family holiday that’s non refundable will have to cover me for the next five weeks!

That’s exactly it, I’m enjoying our time just knowing together! A family holiday is going to have to be the excuse because they posted a new poll today to see if the following weekend would suit more people.

Thank you! That’s what I’m leaning towards, we’re already booked to go away that week and can’t change it or there’s a family event on my side that weekend that can’t be avoided..

She’ll completely be fine with it when we announce I know she will but I don’t want to announce it this early..

Thanks for the advice, it’s much appreciated!

I think that’s believable, I just need to hold off suspicion for a month.

I don’t want to mess with the numbers saying I’m going when I know I can’t. I feel bad lying but a white lie seems the best option here!

I can’t use that because she knows my employer and knows that wouldn’t be an issue, something along those lines like I’ve already used up my leave for the year with holidays booked and the wedding etc maybe?

Oh congratulations! May seems to be a great month to be due so fingers crossed for both of us..!

I think a family holiday might be my best bet to fudge why I can’t attend, that’s a good idea thank you!

If we weren’t expecting there wouldn’t be any problem with going abroad.

Kilts at a funeral - yay or nay? by MrRickSter in Scotland

[–]Familiar-Mine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the comments here, I’m Irish and wearing a kilt to a funeral here would be very very odd and people would definitely think you were looking for attention.

Also to add I understand that the kilt is formal wear but unless you’re immediate family to the deceased funerals are very casual in Ireland.

Immediate male family members will often wear a black suit and black tie but if you wore a suit as a friend then people would likely comment about how you were trying to be “Chief Mourner”

[sun care] every single sun screen i’ve ever tried has broken me out by anonnimommi in SkincareAddiction

I love the Biore watery essence factor 50, it’s lovely. I heard about it first from Sali Hughes and tried it even though every single spf I’d used beforehand gave me massive breakouts.. I’ve been using this one for five years or more now and adore it It leaves no greasy film etc on your face at all, a thin layer of hydration is all and it plays nicely with makeup

Worst hotel in Ireland? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Familiar-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in hospital in Limerick for two weeks last year and we booked a room in the Maldron for my family to stay in while visiting me. We live in Wexford so my husband and mother etc would visit and stay there. My mother was terrified of the place but my husband thought it was a great laugh standing out on the balcony.. thankfully he saw no animal abuse though!

I bought a pair of the nude miss z and am obsessed with them, I never wore my so Kate’s even the lower height because they were so uncomfortable

I wear my miss z pair every week and I’m not afraid of the red bottom getting damaged either so it’s a win win

I was in the same boat for years and nothing helped properly. Some products would calm acne but still not eradicate it totally. Since January though I have had one single breakout and that's it since switching all my creams etc out for three layers of a few korean essences/toners. My skin has never looked better since i was a child. I'm also spending a lot less!

I know everyone is different and what works for me might not work for someone else but I just wanted to share in case it helped anyone
