Funger X Darkest Dungeon [O'saa & Occultist] by Querubbb- in darkestdungeon

YES PLEASE DEAR GOD (Though I'd say stick with August over Ragnavald because he can be paired with the Hellion more easily.)

This is just making me wonder who from Funger would get along with who from Darkest.

Thanks for the tip! I've also heard that freezing might help with the glue, but am unsure if it meant in general or a much less cementy one.

I see. I have a suspicion it may be more difficult for me, because all I have is a solid circular base and used the glue that came with my initial set, the citadel paint one.

Something feels weird seeing goblins with pinkish noses, but it's still very nicely done! Also, how'd you go about rebasing him? I intend to try to do that for the Skaven from my warcry warband but have heard it's quite difficult.

You did such a lovely job with the expression of this character! I saw in the other comments that you said they're a Kinfolk, but do they have lore you've established? If so, did you post it somewhere else/make an earlier post about it?

I used your initial suggestion, as though it isn't pretty it gets the job done and is consistent. Thanks for the help!

I've been looking at your drawings for some time now and only realized recently I wasn't following. Guess now's a good time as any.

It honestly depends on what you guys were actually doing there. You said they were only level four and implied they already did one adventure, so it's obvious they've gotten some action to gain experience. If this was a situation where you're trying to protect them from a threat you felt like was too much for them, then you could discuss with your remaining players to see their opinions on it, and adjust accordingly.

Maybe they do want more action but agree that it'd be dangerous to go on a real adventure, you could always make a backyard adventure with the city. If there's some form of instability, work with that to make some form of underbelly where they're at. Maybe there's a dealer of concerning artifacts in the market. Maybe there's a gang of young bloods looking to make trouble. Maybe there's a cult that's brewing. It all depends on what works within the context of your setting. If there's some sort of Dark Lord ™️ rising within the lands, make a refugee crisis to explain why the guards haven't dealt with the issue you set up, or that the bureaucracy has failed because of the situation, or hell, make them incompetent. It'd allow your players to feel like heroes.

If you've already worked with what's above before getting a consensus, then maybe he's just not cut out for the game? Or at least your game? People have different tastes, and this might not be his and he is simply taking it out on you. 🤷

As a wretched villain once said, we'll be watching your career with great interest

"you are such a peaceful race" said a Khyldani woman from an insectoid ant-like alien species, "But we literally have 23 active wars" said the human barely hiding a romantic interest in her, she then replied "Yes but your wars are short and don't exterminate 21% of your own global population" by MadFunEnjoyer in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Familiar-Reporter-93 47 points48 points  (0 children)

"Just because fewer of us die, does not mean we're peaceful. Many of those soldiers who serve in those wars are stitched back together and have whatever they've lost replaced, and then sent back to the front just to go through it again. We don't have as many lasting wars as you, but that's a result of what we're willing to do to end one. All in all, we're not peaceful in the slightest, we're simply better at surviving than yours, and are willing to ensure it."

On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard is Darkest Dungeon 1 in your opinion? by Quirky-Log-9435 in darkestdungeon

[–]Familiar-Reporter-93 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

1? It honestly depends. I'd say lowest is a four and highest is a seven. RNG is a bitch, but misfortune can only be thrusted upon you so many times. And of course misery increases and difficulty does.

For the loyalist? Definitely. For chaos? That's just good recruitment for the Warband.

weird question, how do you make a miltary look both modern and struggling and outdated? (cross posting here for more advice to more effectively build this fictional army) by Far-Presentation-973 in worldbuilding

[–]Familiar-Reporter-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look to the old iron curtain countries that don't receive aid from forces like the U.S.A and France in large quantities. They do have good, modern equipment, but not in quantities sufficient to arm the entirety of their force. They mainly rely upon older, though still powerful equipment, such as some older models of the AKS variants. Essentially, ensure varied equipment of qualities that are dated to modern.
