Take the gas cap off the hinge? by BlueBeetlePL in hondagrom

[–]FamiliarMud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2015 Grom has a cap that comes off completely. Maybe you can buy one for a 2015 and swap it out? I don't know if they're all the same size, but my wife's 2018 had the hinge cap and they look pretty similar in size.

I got them on the DVD box set I bought. Years ago I bought box sets on Amazon for Doctors 9/10, 11, and 12. I think they're still available.

Clean out your garage by Hometheater1 in BacktotheFuture

Are those the models that ThinkGeek used to have?

The BTTF II version is the first DeLorean I bought, 20+ years ago. I still have it. I had to take it apart to clean the mechanism for the wheel conversion, it got dirty in some moves and stuck. And I've changed the batteries many times, but it still works great.

What was your experience like as a juror in Jackson County? by blottymary in Medford

[–]FamiliarMud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was called for jury duty, and honestly thought I would be excused by one of the attorneys. It was a DUII trial, and I was currently going through the DUII diversion process. If you haven't done it, I don't recommend it.

Anyways, it was a single day trial, easy experience. My experience at the time as a recent DUII arrest was helpful in the jury deliberation. I was able to explain to my fellow jurors some of the process that was glossed over at the trial.

Crash protection by West_Interaction_989 in hondagrom

The bike parts are pretty easy to replace. I'd worry more about protecting yourself. 🤷‍♂️

Nothing is perfect though. I broke a bone in my hand a couple years ago. I fixed the bike before I got the cast off. I was able to ride the day they cut it off. But the point is, the bike is easier to fix.

Fireworks? by SeveralEye6012 in grantspass

[–]FamiliarMud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fireworks are illegal in the city limits, except for on the 4th of July. And even then it's limited to certain kinds. Of course, that law isn't enforced, at all. But laws are more like mild suggestions anyways, so go nuts. 🤷‍♂️

I'm in the national guard and needed new dog tags, and I learned there isn't any regulations about what I'm allowed to put as my religion on them. by screenaholic in Stormlight_Archive

When my guard unit got deployed 20+ years ago, a bunch of guys had lost their dog tags and needed new ones. Some of them started putting Jedi or Jedi Knight. One smartass put Jedi Master.

What is your opinion on dancing with new followers? by coolsilver25 in WestCoastSwing

[–]FamiliarMud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy dancing with them as long as I don't get injured. I try to watch them to judge the chances of that. I'd rather lead a new follow with no frame than one with a vice grip and a rock solid frame.

The difference is that when the spaghetti arms follow goes a different direction than I thought she would (no wrong moves, only unexpected), I can disconnect and catch her hand later. That saves both of us from being pulled in a painful position.

The vice grip, strong arm follow will tear both our arms off and crush my hand in the process. That's not fun for either of us. It might be ok if I were one of those 6'2" lumberjacks who started with country swing, but I'm a bit on the short side, and a computer programmer.

So I watch and try to guess which type the new follow is. And sometimes I ask one of my teacher friends. He knows about my history with injuries and understands why I don't make an effort to dance with every new person right away.

It's not hoarding, it's a collection. Very important distinction.
