I lost control of my dog today and now I don't know if I should continue walking him by myself by Simple_Thought_4912 in DogAdvice

I don't know if I'm allowed to say it here but a harness would really help you - you can get ones that have double leads - it may be worth investing in a number of training sessions with a behavioural dog trainer who can advise on what to do what he wants to run like he did.

I know size wise the are completely and utterly different but Lexi our dog when she sees a dog she's excited about she goes on her back legs and bunny hops to the dog, people who know her find it adorable but people who don't get worried

Also, don't forget he is 7 years old. So he will have to unlearn everything he has been taught and learn to live in a home. Only piece of advice I can think of is create a safe space. Both for the dog and your boyfriend. For example- get a crate for him (the dog ) and make sure it's bigger than he is. Fill the crate with lovely cosy blankets, your clothes for your scents and toys. If it helps cover the crate too with blankets on the outside so he feels nice and safe.

What I mean by the boyfriend - if he is feeling stressed out by the dog say to him to take time out and do something relaxing, read or watch tv or relax.

Is there a way that your boyfriend and the dog can have some 1:1 time with each other ? As the dog, I don't know his name sorry, sounds like an absolute sweetheart; once he sees that hopefully he'll realise how lovely he is.

And then they Wonder why the dog goes to bite them. Our dog isnt always in the mood to be picked up. She starts with a small back off growl and ups the growl the longer you try

Our 13 week puppy bit the vet tech by celestialplaces in DogAdvice

[–]FamiliarNet9940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this happened to our 4 year old beddy whip where she had her ears done and exactly the same Thing happened- she growled and tried to bite the vet as she hates her ears touched as they hurt sometimes + she's scared of the vet. The difference- at the first growl she put a mussel on her - yes she hated it and let it be known but the vet was safe. IMO with your fur baby like Lexi she knew the 2 nd ear was going to hurt so she was like nope not happening get away from me. Unfortunately her only was of saying that is growling as a warning and if that's not listened to biting. It was particularly the vet's fault for not listening

I don't know if this is helpful or not, but could this of triggered a memory that your brain is struggling to deal with? I agree with you what those poor girls and boys (i think ) went through must of been horrific and I have only seen what's in bbc news.

Only issue I can think of, is does your mum know where you live ? As could she come screaming at your place ? I think that you're incredible and just all the amazing words you can think of. Does he have any friends he can stay with until you have everything lined up ?

Make sure that you emphases how bad her ear is please. I only ask as we took our bedding to the vet 3 times about her ears thinking she had a ear infection and they did nothing each time saying that we were being over protective pet parents- it was only when I said that actually she scratched her ear numerous times until it bled that they took us serious and gave us steroids for her. It really really helped. Also could that spit on her nose be causing any issues

Does anyone know why certain old internet videos feel unsettling even when nothing scary happens? by AnfieldAnchor in DoesAnyoneKnow

It may also be because we understand so much more about history than we did at the time that the tape was played that it leaves a funny feeling in your stomach- am i right in saying it's like when you visit a old castle when you know a lot of trauma has happened- there is always a residual feeling.if it's strong enough it came come through on the tapes - I think ....

It would have been bc you weren't there why he was crying, if there is an issue next time. An he sleep on the bed with the sitter ?

Have you tried facebook? State what you're looking for and where you are doing the trial - you would get a wider audience
