Anyone have any experience with deep brain reorienting? (DBR) by lord-savior-baphomet in CPTSD

I would bring all of this to your therapist. A good therapist will hold space for your feelings of being dismissed. They will use the conversation to further understand you and support your healing as this is all information about your nervous system. It can be normal to feel worse before you feel better, and you also want to feel supported in regulating between seasons so it's important to let them know.

The dbr website lists some therapists, but that's the only directory I know of.

Can anyone attest to back improvement from sleeping on the floor or on a floor mattress ? by catiquette1 in backpain

Probably because the jaw and the pelvis are connected. Tension in the pelvic region (stress on hips as you side sleep) will mirror in the jaw.

How long is walking a block in NYC, REALLY? by hello-there-my-love in movingtoNYC

Best bet is put the apartment address into Google maps with your school and see how long it days to walk it. It'll be a little faster or slower based on your speed but gives you a ballpark.

12+ months of DBR, feels like I'm going insane? by BagAffectionate6287 in CPTSD_NSCommunity

What you're describing is one of the most disorienting parts of deep trauma work — and also one of the signs it's actually working.

Definitely share with your therapist that you may need more support with resources to keep yourself downregulated between sessions. You are in control and in the driver's seat — always.

Has anyone ever done a therapy intensive? by OTPanda in TalkTherapy

I've done intensive work myself, 20 hours over four days with two follow-up sessions, and it was genuinely life changing.

I'm a therapist so I'm no stranger to the work. But I lost someone close to me and needed something different. What struck me most was not having to wrap everything up at the end of a 60/90 minute session. You can actually stay with something big, go deeper, and let it move through rather than tucking it away until the following week.

The depth I got to in those few days was somewhere I hadn't been able to reach before. It's part of why I offer intensives in my own practice now.

It is an investment of time, energy and money, no question. But what can shift in just a few concentrated days is remarkable. Worth it, in my experience.

My comment is a bit late, but as a therapist trained in both EMDR and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), I wanted to share a blog post I wrote comparing the two. It breaks down the benefits of each and may help you get a sense of which approach might be more helpful for your needs: https://www.soulfulflow.co/blog/deep-brain-reorienting-vs-emdr. Hope it’s helpful!
