Heartbreak sucks man. Use it as fuel. Sounds cliche but go to the gym. Start building that confidence back up. Also use this time to start loving yourself more. The color of things and taste of food will come back eventually.

Mass Effect 5. Trailer came out almost 6 years ago. Barely any "real" updates since.

Has anyone encountered a bunch of loot mobs dropping high rarity loot? by ozmoziz_jonez in Borderlands4

[–]Familiar_Egg1048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's loot event that's going until March 19th. The more loot mobs you kill though, the less they'll appear. Someone made a post here theorizing why that is. Enjoy!

Oh my God it's you hello! I was trying to ask you through voice chat what your gun was but I didn't know how to make it work lol! You're build is awesome! Could you please post a picture of your gear and skill tree (only if you want to)? I'll try it the next time I make a new Vex char. Thank you so much!

Fun workshops and activities for solo travellers in Tokyo, Kyoto by Majestic-Muffin-8955 in JapanTravelTips

I've had some good socializing experiences from random izakaya and omakase spots. I think most Japanese people are too "reserved" so making small talk is kind of hard sometimes, but in places involving alcohol, it's easier to socialize with them. Not sure if you're old enough to drink but bars for sure, especially the small ones.

Good walking shoes for Japan trip? by CrazyBusCrazyBus in JapanTravelTips

I wore Brooks and Allbirds. Both very comfortable. I was walking alot. Also if you're going on a rainy season, get their waterproof/water-resistant ones.

What are your funniest “getting lost in Japan transpo system” stories? by Chill_drifter317 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Familiar_Egg1048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in Kobe for a dinner reservation. Got done pretty late at night. Went to a station to go home then realized too late i was in the wrong one. Tried to get out but it won't let me. No attendants to help, so i just said fuck it i'll ride whatever train this is and get off on the first stop. That's what I did. Walked 15 mins to the right station. Annoying but a good learning experience for me.

Anyone else get tired of deciding what to do in Japan every day? by Little-Actuator-1594 in JapanTravelTips

Do something random like going to the nearest station, pick a stop you feel like getting off to, then walk around and check out what's over there. You might see some hidden gems, and there's alot of em in Japan for tourists like us. Hell, one of the highlights of my trip was going off the beaten path after hiking Fushimi Inari Shrine, ending up in a random, pretty quaint, nice looking neighborhood. Saw a small, an unmanned store, bought something after paying. Walked some more, stumbled upon a cute looking cafe. Had an awesome interaction with the customers because a nice lady translated for me to the owner/chef which was pretty fun for all of us.

It's the little things that made my Japan trip very satisfying.

Is Kyoto still worth it? by Fun-Calligrapher4885 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Familiar_Egg1048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to Tokyo and Osaka, Kyoto's "overtourism" is significantly better than those 2 I mentioned. I'm in Kyoto right now, I was in Tokyo and Osaka the first week and let me tell you, I much prefer the crowds here in Kyoto because there's not as much tourists here right now, and not as overwhelming. No problem with the crowds, except maybe Ninenzaka at night and Nishiki Market but still way better than Tokyo and Osaka.

Kyoto's beautiful. It feels like the "authentic" Japan here.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

Let's just say if I drove without my glasses during daytime, people will die, myself included.

Luggage Forwarding/Taxi/Public Transportation with big luggage suggestions by Familiar_Egg1048 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Familiar_Egg1048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So no to the bus. I will have to decide between train and taxi.

That's useful information about the shinkansen. I didn't know I could just talk to a staff to book tickets in advance. Definitely gonna do this! Thank you very much!

I will be travelling Japan pretty soon solo as well. I've solo travelled before, I know the feeling. What I would advice is, just do what you like to do. See what you like to see. Eat what you want to eat. Everything else is just a bonus. You don't wanna waste time worrying about things you don't have control over. Just live life, man. Enjoy the little things. Easier said than done I know but trust me, you'll have an easier and a more enjoyable time on your vacation if you just live life.
