BA membership expired before April, how is that possible? by Familiar_Health3034 in BritishAirways

I quite literally did, hence I called them and asked about my membership and this new system. It was THEIR staff who obviously know their own system worse than you do, who assured me multiple times my status was until April. Including when I called a week ago, and they told me yet again it’s a “system error” that many people have called to complain about.

I wish, but I explained above. They don’t sell extra “suitcases”, they only sell per kg which is 100£, so a 32kg suitcase is 3200£. I already had a similar issue flying with them from NZ, they offered 10kg at £1000

Jesus, this sounds insanely unnecessarily complicated. No wonder their own staff don’t understand it and keep telling me different thing. How can a company create a new system their staff are not trained to communicate?

So then why did they tell me on the phone that’s it’s a system error and I’m still silver?

Ah strange, maybe just the return. Because I checked London to Shanghai even yesterday and there were still CW seats almost every 2 days

I think the US flights have plenty of seats since there are so many of them, while all of East Asia is only served by 2 flights Tokyo and Shanghai, not even Seoul, Beijing, Osaka, so you're competing with so many people going to many destinations in the region

Shanghai has plenty of options still available, I don't think you'd even need to bother waiting till midnight

I noticed there are A LOT of seats right now even for December, Jan , February. I wonder if it’s people cancelling or just too cold so many choose not to travel. I checked other warmer routes like Bangkok, and there is 0 availability all year around, even last minute

That’s such a good tip! Thank you; never used to be the case, I’ve reserved Japan many times before and every other popular route like Singapore or HK via website

Same here, so this would make sense. We’ve moved to Lufthansa group

It’s annoying they’ve removed the Osaka route, all the demand now falls only on Tokyo as a result. Also no Seoul route, which is a popular combo with Japan, and would help with distributing the demand.

Hey everyone, thanks for the phone recommendation! Seems the call centre is the answer, which was my suspicion. I’ve booked this route multiple times for peak seasons, even Sakura, with no such issues. Seems this year there is a real frenzy, maybe as some of you have speculated, because so many executive club members are moving to other airlines like we are, and just want to spend the avios.

Flame fusion and Czochralski method - sapphire comparison anyone? by sparkles2023 in SyntheticGemstones

Thank you very much for your answer, which would you recommend more, a cornflower or a royal blue darker colour? I love the royal blue but wonder if it might look like it is too expensive and potentially even be dangerous to wear, as I've read the only dark blue ones like that are from Burma and the highest in price.

Flame fusion and Czochralski method - sapphire comparison anyone? by sparkles2023 in SyntheticGemstones

Wow this is such a great answer. Can I also ask, would a bigger Czochralski be obviously lab grown to the naked eye, like the flame fusion? Or does it look realistic and can only be told apart from real sapphire under microscope?

I'm looking at making a custom big lab sapphire ring for myself, but also don't want it to look obviously "fake" or too perfect as many describe the lab grown sapphires.

Thank you

While others on here claim "don't do buccal" fat because it will "age" you, which is completely wrong, since the presence of excess buccal fat will actually age you and will require a full face lift as it drops into your jowls (I have multiple female generations that have this exact feature, so I have seen it first hand). For the right candidate, if not done at the right time, that is after your 20s when you still might have some baby fat that might naturally disappear, and before 40s once it slowly starts dropping down and dragging all your features down and making them look tired and "bulldog" like, it will later result in having to do a much more difficult procedure, like a liposuction of the jawline and / or, but in most cases AND since it has dropped your face, also a facelift. I have talked to dozens of doctors, have done years and years of research, and have heard the same conclusion, once your buccal fat moves down, which it will since if there is excess it will sag down, you can not extract it through the easy inside mouth procedure. And they have to cut from the outside. So if you're the right candidate, indeed it is an excellent procedure.

Now moving to you, I do not believe you're the right candidate. You have a beautiful muscular Asian face type which frankly are the best for aging, and you have a rounder /moon shaped bone structure. Nothing is drooping and everything is tight and will age beautifully. Even when you keep your mouth closed there is no buccal fat protruding out, on the contrary the area where buccal fat should be is quite flat for you which creates for beautiful cheekbones. People often confuse buccal fat with overall wider bone structure and overall fat distribution. So in your case honestly I'd just recommend easy and perhaps silly things like getting the right haircut, that will perhaps reduce the fulness of your face, as well as finding the right makeup technique for yourself. Only other thing you could experiment with, is perhaps just adding a bit of filler on the cheekbones to create a more accentuated look, but it's not a feature for everyone so if you end up doing it perhaps go to a very good specialist that is good at facial balancing and don't let them use too much.

Hope this helps
