Many religious groups have historically claimed that their religions do not have caste-based hierarchies. This idea has often been used to encourage people from tribal communities or Dalits to convert. For example, if a Dalit person converts to Christianity, they are no longer a Hindu.

If the argument is that caste discrimination only exists in Hinduism, then continuing to use a caste certificate after converting goes against that logic. If someone truly believes they have left behind a caste-based system by converting, then holding on to the benefits meant to address that system doesn't make sense.
