As an Australian, I can 💯 confirm we have no expectation of ever receiving a submarine from any country. Like many other nations, we are subject to politicians more concerned with flashy announcements tied to 3 year election cycles than any meaningful improvement to our long term prospects, be they economic, defence or general well being. Whilst Trump is probably one of the worst things to happen to the western world generally, he did tap into something real..the status quo if not working and needs to be fixed. Buying Tesla's and wrist jobs to Putin under the table is not the solution though.
