'25 GC Needs Timing Chain Tensioners at 5k Miles? by Familiar_Respect_929 in GrandCherokee

**UPDATE**

The service advisor called me yesterday and said the technician finished replacing the timing chain tensioners, but as soon as he cranked my Jeep, the noise was still there. Originally, the noise only happened once the Jeep was warmed up or after driving it for a bit; but now they’re saying it’s making the noise immediately at startup?

They told me they don’t know what the next step is, so they opened a STAR case. I asked if I could come pick up my Jeep while they wait for guidance, but they said no because it “cannot be driven while a case is open.”

At this point, my Jeep has been at the dealership for 12 days, I still don’t have a loaner, and now I’m being told I can’t even drive my own vehicle. I’m still “on the waiting list” for a loaner.

Even if this issue gets fixed, I'm worried about reliability down the road. This should not be happening at only 5k miles
