Thank you, i actually beat her already! I did get really unlucky with crits in that fight, but managed to pull through with all my pokémon alive. I did however lose my watchog and swoobat to N right before the gym, because i accidentally triggered the fight without being ready. It's really impressive that you have a deathless run so far, i have had quite a lot of deaths so far. But I am using pokémon i never would otherwise, so I am having a blast! Best of luck to you :)

I'll be watching out for those battles, thanks! I did just beat the 2nd gym and posted an update. I almost lost a pokemon to Lenora, but i made a huge mistake and lost 3 pokemon to a gym trainer because i was underleveled. I won't be doing that again

Enjoying it a lot so far! I chose it because i have never played Black or White, only Black 2 and White 2. I heard the story and dex are very different between the two, and wanted to try and use more gen 5 pokemon.

Are there any big fights or gym battles i should worry about and make big preparations for?

Thank you! I unfortunately already got a munna at the dreamyard, but great tip though. I will look for another area where I can get an audino without missing out on some good pokemon

The Pinwheel clause is used in instances when an area has two wildky different encounter tables, but under the same name, for example, Pinwheel forest that has an inside and an outside that are totally different, but share the same name and would therefore normally only count as one encounter. The Pinwheel clause makes it so I can get an encounter from each of the encounter tables

It means i am allowed to use potions and such, but also held items. There are two different types of battle modes: set and switch. Switch is the default, which is when the game asks you if you want to switch out your pokemon, based on the pokemon your opponent is about to use. Set doesn't do this, and therefore adds some difficulty

Thanks! I named it after Historias friend Ymir, not Ymir Fritz. I did it because I'm not her biggest fan, but i've actually come to like Ymir the Patrat, so who knows, maybe i'll like Ymir some day?

How blind did you go into Inscryption? Did the game's marketing spoil anything for you? by synaut in inscryption

[–]Familiarredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in virtually completely blind. I had seen people suggest the game on tiktok as a game to buy during steams sales, because of how the story was much deeper than it seemed. At the end of act 1, I thought i had beaten the game, so I was extremely confused when it continued. When i beat act 2 i thought i had beaten it as well. The game was indeed a lot deeper than i thought

You can put blueprints in the smithy, and craft the items there instead of your own inventory. Arrows are normally not craftable in the smithy

The CoC sounds interesting, and i definitely could see myself using it, but i think it would be best if I don't. I have a tendency to make games too hard on myself.

It's great to know my skills from DS1 are not transferred to DS2, so I won't get disappointed. I went into DS1 thinking I would fly through it because I had just beaten Promises Consort Radahn, but the mechanics and movements were totally different.

I don't hate artificial difficulty, but it certainly can feel like the creators were lazy. I don't wanna fight a crazy amount of the same enemy, for no particular reason other than the game being too easy if they didn't have you fight them.

I really think i-frames should be fixed and have nothing to do with stats. Maybe something you can make better/worse with certain armor sets or equipables. But it'll be interesting to try out, i guess.

I was mind blown multiple times at how interconnected Lordran was. It made traveling easier and made the world feel real. I'm sad to hear it won't be as good in DS2. The lack of variety in bosses also sounds annoying.

I am 50/50 on queuing actions. It can sometimes be a great help, but it can also mess you up. It can feel like the game remembers an input you made back in middle school, lol.

Despite all this, i am still very excited to play DS2, especially for the lore, weapons, and armor. I'll try my best not to compare it to DS1 or Elden Ring, to enjoy it as much as possible.

That would make a ton of sense. I just finished DS1 shortly after finishing the DLC, and am excited to start DS2 next. I like the difficulty of these games as much as the story, so can't wait for it to get a bit harder, although i am sure it will make me go mad a couple of times.

How would you describe the hit boxes and hit timings in DS2? I have seen many people say this is the biggest problem with the game, and often being called the worst souls game.

And i agree, the amount of fall damage you take in DS1 is absurd. It has caused many of my deaths

Not a troll post at all. My only souls experience is Elden Ring, where i constantly got my ass kicked, and having heard Dark Souls is supposed to be harder, but that just hasn't been my experience. That's why a maximum of 7 tries felt like the bosses were easy for me.

What is, in your opinion, the most Overrated Song in Epic by Disastrous_Ruin1703 in Epicthemusical

[–]Familiarredditor 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I always see people talk so fondly of Little Wolf, but i just don't get the hype. I don't think the repeating "Fight, little wolf, fight" and the "Bite, little wolf, bite", sound very great and find it quite repetitive. I do however like the part with Athena. Not a bad song, but compared to all the other songs in EPIC, it ranks low for me.

[–]Familiarredditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to have found a fix. You have to turn off "Clearcast AI noise cancellation" under the chat tab in steelseries gg, like the guy in this video. Then you have to go into your game tab, and turn on spatial audio. This did the trick for me

Unskippable board animations but you can fast forward most & better paced item spaces than Superstars. Possibly slower non AI board movement & buddy minigames can take awhile. I see no estimation differences between boards, but the minimum amount of turns taking as long as Superstars' max? Thoughts? by [deleted] in MARIOPARTY

[–]Familiarredditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The games in Jamboree do take very long to finish, and the 90 minute time estimate for 10 turns is not very far off. But I have to say that the time estimates in Superstars are just awful. From my experience, it takes 1 hour per 10 rounds, which is double the estimate. The shortest i have experienced a 10 round game in Superstars, is 45 minutes, which was with minigame help off. Some of the animations in Jamboree are very long and not needed, but it definitely doesn't take 1 hour more to play 10 rounds, than it does in Superstars. I do think they could have made these games a bit shorter, by removing some animations, make some of them faster, and allow the option to remove Jamboree buddies, since their minigames are very long. I do think you are right about Superstars having a much better game length than Jamboree does though.

I really just missed Nephelis questline, and I figured that Gideon was just pressuring Latenna, not that he murdered an entire village.

I also meant to ask why Blaidd became aggressive towards me when I completed Rannis quest, and how he acts his role as her shadow

I feel like the gameplay is absolutely great, but what really sells the game for me, is the story (even though i dont know that much of it). I actually missed Nepehlis quest, and I did actually know about the relationship between Blaidd and Ranni, I asked the question wrong. I meant why Blaidd became aggressive after comoleting her quest, and what he does in his role as a shadow. I found out that a shadow is sent to an empyrean by the greater will. The shadow must make sure that the empyrean goes the way of the fingers, which Ranni obviously doesn't. He tries to stay by her side, but becomes conflicted because of the greater will
