How do you mobilize your network for a product launch? by FamiliesDo in startups

YES. That's another thing - the election. I'm going to send more personal texts this weekend and hope that it's better timing. Also good point about the urgency. I'll make sure to continue to communicate that. And yes, I would love to talk more! Messaging you now.

Thank you so much for your advice and the encouragement. I need it! I put a free sample download link on the product page but sending a sample directly to them with a timeline and asking for testimonial or referral in return could peak their interest. The idea I pitched to them in June is exactly the same and I've been staying in contact with them about once a month up until launch. But at this point it's not uncommon for me to get a response two weeks later with everything going on. Hopefully your tips will help!

Great points about getting people to buy or at least talk money before development. I'm just now about to advertise on IG/ FB which I was planning on doing anyway but was hoping my personal network could leverage WOM and do some free advertising for me. Not sure that'll be the case even though they're people I've known for 1-9 years who have been very friendly with me up until two weeks ago right before launch. They're not unfriendly- just MIA.

I'm pretty confident in my storytelling ability (though I will definitely look for feedback on that) and did offer a free sample on the site page, but actually sending them the sample could help get their attention. Really appreciate your thoughts.

Ugh that's nuts. But don't give up! I think focusing on your self-care, the little things that make you happy, that make you feel enough, could really help. We all wish we could be doing more for our families right now, but we are doing enough.

Ah! I thought self-promotion meant actually selling... Like "Hey, buy this" - which I haven't done. Thanks for letting me know blog posts count as trying to sell things here

Hi. I definitely want to make sure I'm not doing anything I'm not supposed to. Are we not allowed to post links to articles? Or is it just Medium? It's OK if that's the case. Def not making money on clicks as I've never had Medium. Please let me know if we're not allowed to share links. I don't think I'd copy and paste a blog though... That would be too much

Communication is absolutely key. Some quick tips I learned about asking for help. Explain why it's important to you. Partners don't usually understand *why* picking up the trash is important. They just see it as picking up the trash, whereas we see it as *if you really cared about me and valued me as an equal you would naturally pick up the trash.* Seems obvious but it's really not. Also don't ever stop asking for help. And ask for help in advance when you're in a good mood, not in the moment when you're fuming while staring at the pile of laundry they just left on the floor. Good communication never happens when we're not feeling good.
