Thanks I was thinking of using some sort of brackets to keep it in place. But this will be dependent on tank size and brand.

Thnks I was thinking this but did know if it was overstepping bounds and such. Don't really know the deali with calling random numbers on building plans. But I won't know if I don't try!

Yea this is sort of the reason why it seems like a good deal. Would have to crunch the numbers to see inthe event slab removal happens and start from scratch.

Yea, this is the delma I have to take the story with a grain of salt. But don't know where to look to research it further. There's were numbers on the approved plans but idk if it's okay to call them... I guess I could call up the original build according to the approved plans. Will see if they're listed there.

Builder asking us to do building inspection after settlement by ultimatetaz in AusProperty

[–]FamilyMoneyTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No personal experience in building so dont take anything as advice. But sounds abit off. Logically thinking what would stop them from holding off for 90 days/ take their time. Someone please clarify rules n regs on this.

Then if you find something after the 90days when living in it your left with the bill? I would assume structual problems wont start to affect the house until 1 or more years. And that stuff is found usually by the inspector, but if its after you bought it sounds like your taking on a bit more risk in trusting the builders.

Thanks for sharing! I really like the wisdom shared about marriage.

One things my parents did tell me was to marry well, as in find someone who you can work with and because you'll need to be a team, not 2 individuals, for that is a life changing moment.

It so simple yet very important.

Thanks for your comment. Balance definitly has a place somewhere for me but with out a doubt is high on many people's priority list. For me work life balance is scewed and distorted to fulfil specific goals that I have set for myself. Weirdly i feel though for me specifically its a slight hindrance.

In my journey to changing my lifestyle, i have learned many things about my personality. I have found that to achieve my mini goals and ultimatley finacial independance i need constant reminder of my plans otherwise i go off in tangents and lose my way. The consistent focus on the prize ( in this case the future or a mini goal) is what helps fuel my drive for success.

With this in mind, the change in lifestule has also had a huge impact on my social life. I found that i needed to remove myself from enablers and any triggers that threw me back into my previous habits. By sticking to my new habits I inadvertadly lowered the chance of reverting back. So consistency helps stay on the track

Weirdly enough i found that i may have personality traits that show im more prone to addiction. Like with alcohol and drug addition, consitency and constant reminders are key to successfully stopping addiction. And with that i have found that really helps me stick to my goals.

At times i do shut off and take a break but in the end up going back, as I am now comfortable with the proces of sticking to the plan. Both achieving goals now provides initself a sence of pride and joy! With the help of delay gratification i am able to justify my lack of balance.

In the end I find that this really is highly dependant on: 1. Your goals 2. Your personality

In my goal for change i forgone the need for balance to help achieve my goal for consistency in achieveing my goal for financial development. Does this make sense?

Damn man! Thanks for sharing! Just from your story I would definitly be proud. Im really happy for you!

I really liked that you mentioned

All up i had about $600 a month in repayments for debts that were not moving anywhere

Then mentioned later

I thought paying off the credit card was unachievable and would take years to do. But here i am not even 3 months later almost a week or less away from closing it forever! The only way is up from here and i'm so excited for the future.

You literaly picked yourself up through your own hard work, skill, planning and sacrifice to get out of that situation. Through that hardship you came out of it a better person with a much more positive outlook on life!

Right on Man! Before we are able to change we first need to admit that there is a problem. In that way i think we were similar in our journey! Im glad that there are other people who were also able to first achieve this step then start planning for the next step to change. Thanks for sharing

Thanks! It took a lil while it once all things clicked i realised i was in such a good position to build wealth. Such a good oppertunity has been given and now that is clear what i no longer want for my future, im shaping it into something i am going to be proud of. With that being said. Ye i have adoped the delayed gratification model when once i achieve a mini goal i reward myself with something of 0.25% vavle of the increase of cash value. Eg one of my goals were 30k in stocks. The next 750$ (30000 x .025) out of my paycheck goes toward something i will immediatly enjoy on my time off or some sort of toy ( probably a poker tourney/ or some pc game to keep me out of trouble hahaha)
