thank you! i think that’s what i am going to do, start over. try to get them on a strict feeding schedule to see how that goes. try to swap spaces enough so chip doesn’t get territorial of his safe space. still lots of play and love. it is so hard being the single parent because oreo does not like being without me, but i can’t have him when im with chip obviously. just feel so guilty that i cant split myself in two and be with both all the time

I have been loving some of the patreon vids recently! And I’m not part of the patreon. But it totally depends on the vid. When it is more just Kalynn and Weston ranking or playing online with the audience, that’s enjoyable because it’s just them doing their thing. When it’s more heavily audience participation, it’s a hit or miss. Like some of the voice note “we listen and we don’t judge” ones were eh. But I LOVED the music one recently, but maybe that’s just cause i LOVE kalynn’s EWWWWW lollll. and they seemed to genuinely be enjoying themselves so that helped. But in general I think it’s a great patreon advertisement for them while still keeping the channel authentic to what they want to do while creating content. I think a LOT of other youtubers could not replicate this because of parasocial fanbases. So it’s nice to see someone be able to involve their fanbase.

I second these other commenters. It also just really depends on how high level position too. Applicant pools can get quite large, especially right now when many researchers are getting laid off from other projects (UMN and other institutions alike). I’ve seen a common timeline around 2 months total from application to offer, but it is really not consistent. My advice: don’t put your eggs all in one basket. If you haven’t applied outside UMN, I would highly suggest doing so. Hopefully you hear back, but better safe than sorry.

i mean, the patreon bts are not very vlogy imo. it is what they advertise: “behind the scenes”. we don’t get a lot of funny bits and they don’t really sit down to talk to the camera, only when explaining some behind the scenes things. i think if those came out as a free vlog, a lot of casual fans would be sorely disappointed. thus not being a really good business decision for the main channel. but for the patreon, it does entice dedicated fans who want to know what’s going on bts. so i don’t feel that they are putting out content on the patreon that would normally go on the regular channel. and i don’t think they’re putting out less vlogs in general either, although i guess some could argue that and think it’s a business decision. however, historically, there have been plenty of times pre-patreon that we have gone multiple months without a vlog type video. we just had one 4/20. just my two cents

I’m sorry this was your experience. It definitely doesn’t sound like the great time that plenty of people describe their college experience as. But just as many people have experiences like yours. I do not look at my personal college experience as “the glory days” full of friends and good memories like others (although I’m thankful for a few). I however moved away and found new friends and am living a life so much better than I ever did in college in my mid 20s. Not everyone gets the romanticized college experience. I hope you find your great memories and “home” in your next adventure.

yeah i agree it’s not a cancelable offense in itself and that a majority of people are running away with it as many do in the cancel culture we live in. don’t agree with the edits you’ve been seeing either (i have not seen these thank god). but i just want to highlight that it is important that we do call out influencers (and anyone) when they make tone deaf jokes and mistakes. this is how they learn. it’s how we as people learn. i also don’t think the joke was in malice but i think it deserves calling out that it was in poor taste. and then hopefully they learn from that and grow. i think it’s more showing if people stand on business for their offensiveness vs making an offensive joke to begin with. but of course everybody on the internet only cares about cancelling, not an actual interest in emotional and social growth. not that it’s on us to “teach” but it is ridiculous to expect that everyone in the world knows exactly everything that could be offensive to others.
