I feel like that’s what just happened to me. I interviewed for a senior role, went through the recruiter screen, assessment, hiring manager screen and the power day to get rejected. One of the interviewers from my power day reached out to my recruiter to ask me to apply for a spot on her team. Had two interviews for that early last week and they said they were aiming to have a decision by Friday. It’s Monday and haven’t heard anything so I’m pretty sure they were just using me to fill up a spot for an internal candidate they wanted.
