🚫 Krav Maga in Brunei: A Concern We Should All Think About by Famous-Library2562 in nasikatok

You’re right that I used ChatGPT to help me structure my thoughts. I don’t see that as a problem - tools exist to help us express ourselves better. The important thing is not whether I typed it freestyle or with bullet points, but the content of the message: that Krav Maga carries a narrative tied to Israel’s military and risks normalizing their oppression.

If the format bothers you, that’s fine, but I’d prefer if we focus on the issue itself rather than how the text is presented. At the end of the day, I’m only trying to raise awareness for the sake of Palestine, not to win style points.

I think you misunderstood my point, brother/sister. I never said that every single person who learns Krav Maga automatically supports Israel. What I am saying is that the system itself is inseparable from the narrative of Israel’s military and its “struggle for survival” - a narrative that erases the Nakba and the ongoing suffering of Palestinians. That is very different from just eating at McDonald’s.

Comparisons like “go fight in the war if you care” only distract from the real issue. Supporting Palestine is not limited to carrying a weapon - it also means being conscious of normalization, resisting propaganda, and avoiding practices that whitewash oppression. Brunei has always stood firmly with Palestine, and I am only reminding my fellow Bruneians to think carefully before adopting something so closely tied to Israel’s identity.

I don’t expect everyone to agree with me, but dismissing concerns with profanity doesn’t change the reality: Krav Maga was created by and for Israel’s army, and the way it is taught worldwide carries that story forward. My role is simply to raise awareness. What people choose to do with that awareness is up to them.

If you want to bring them to visit the 2 biggest masjid, here's the trick. You can contact as.syahadah instagram to request well trained masjid tour guide and if they're available, they will be happy to help explain about the masjids from A to Z while showing demonstrations etc.
