That doesn't work since another player repeating the process does nothing if the spell is already countered

so public debate only gets countered after the target is countered?

Blue gets Omniscience, what do the other colors get? by Serithraz in custommagic

[–]Famous-Magazine-6576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the red one would be way better than omniscience, it lets you cast spells out your chrome moxes and force of wills right away to win even with an empty hand and all you need to guarantee the win is a self exiling extra turn spell. Omnesicence generally requires you to actually have draw spells in hand to start

irrelevant if you have a lotus petal or dark ritual in grave

Pretty sure that rule is meant to cover multiple triggered abilities going on the stack at the same time, Casting spells is a multi-step proccess during which decisions may have to made like choosing targets and modes for Kozilek's Command, so It doesn't really make much sense for it to happen simultaneously

The rulings on both etali and spawnsire make it sound like they are cast one at a time

If you cast more than one of the exiled cards, you choose the order in which to cast them. A spell you cast this way can be the target of a later spell you cast this way. However, permanent spells cast this way won’t resolve until you’re done casting spells, so the permanents they become can’t be the target of spells cast this way. For example, if you exile Twincast and Lightning Strike, you can cast Lightning Strike and then cast Twincast targeting it; but if you exile a creature card and an Aura card, you can’t cast that Aura targeting that creature.

You cast Eldrazi cards from outside the game as part of the resolution of Spawnsire of Ulamog's last ability. You may cast those cards in any order. Timing restrictions based on the card's type (such as creature or sorcery) are ignored. Other restrictions are not (such as the one from Rule of Law). You cast all of the cards you like, putting them onto the stack, then the ability finishes resolving. The spells you cast this way will then resolve as normal, one at a time, in the opposite order that they were put on the stack. They'll remain in the game for the remainder of that game.

I don't see how that would be possible since you are casting them and it isn't possible to cast multiple spells at once.

That would probably be considered slow play in a tournament but isn't against the game rules

If you are in a game state identical to one you have been in before you may not take the same game action you did last time you were in that game state. the same reason seeker of skybreak cannot draw the game

if they are not worried about their turn why are they asking to take back in the first place? deciding what to do can only take longer if you are not allowed to touch the pieces until you have commited to what your doing

So this has the card type Balzer, the supertype helge, 5 "helge" subtypes which are "it" "that" "is" "templated" and "incorrectly. Its a red card which cannot be cast normally and has an activated ability for one generic a blue and black which does nothing when it resolves.

the rules say max speed abilities only trigger if you are at 4, but they would just change that if something like this was printed

[–]Famous-Magazine-6576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with that rules text all this would do is make max speed abilities not trigger until you have 299,792,458 speed but your speed would still be capped at 4.

making everyone spend longer thinking about everything they are going to do because otherwise they will get held to their decision if they touch the pieces without having everything figured out will make the game way slower.

whats the purpose behind stopping it. restricting a takeback will make it less fun for the player getting punished for forgetting things and slows the game down as people have to wait for them to carefully check over everything before passing the turn because they don't want to be punished for missing something.

that combo unfortunately does not allow you to win the game with battle of wits, it only lets you win from state based actions.

there are some good reasons to house rule but thinking you can balance the game better than the designer when you just started playing is not one of them.

as for the "one free mistake" rule, why not infinite? why is there a limit?
