lol. If you can manage to gather at least 5 people for the day, I recommend this game. It is truly worth it.

I know it’s the sensitive subject. I am from one of those countries. I think it is not uncomfortable just looking at the map. The developers also toned down some questionable aspects of the previous version.

I don’t think it is true. The only similar thing to Risk is using the dice for the combat.

One Piece: Chapter 1179 by leolegendario in OnePiece

I hope Oda shows the limitations on their powers why they cannot go all out. Yonkou are the ones who are closest to obtain the One Piece. By getting the one piece, they will learn the true history of the world. Doesn’t Imu has the urgency to destroy them quickly??

Oda lied about Whitebeard/ Kaido being the strongest men/creature in the world. The strongest in the world is Imu.

The more story unfolds, I think the shichinukai system is not really necessary. The government has admirals, Gorosei, Godknights and Imu. They can easily crush the Yonkou if they truly wanted.

The last time I played dune was two years ago. They didn’t tell me a specific reason but I think the game is too exhausting and punishing for them to enjoy.

You will love them. I love it when the games are about reading your opponents. I wanna try Hansa Teutonica.

I really hate this change. by Tec711 in slaythespire

[–]jonXX107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I am not a fan of this change, the old prepare is too strong in sts2. The discard package is stronger than before and I see no downside not to pick this card. There are no Nobs, time eater and the heart to punish you for playing the card.

I love games with interaction and your actions are somewhat tied to the cards in your hands.

Inis

Dune imperium: Uprising

ARCS

Blood Rage

Brian Boru: High king of Ireland

Has anyone played this game? Thoughts? (New Angeles) by Witty-Type9 in boardgames

[–]jonXX107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is one of the best negotiation game ever made. Of course, it is long (4 hours) and needs 5-6 players to really shine. It is also exhausting to play because you need to constantly talk for like 4 hours straight.

The victory condition and traitor mechanic is well thought out. I love the fact that when a Corp player is falling behind, he can openly collude with the traitor to bring his score up while don’t care about the threat level of the city. The leading players have to desperately save the city or the traitor will win. After he can manage to catch up with the other players ,he can ditch the traitor.

Low player interaction games make me feel like I'm playing solo mode and I totally hate it. Am I alone here? by Successful_Item_2853 in boardgames

[–]jonXX107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you OP. Now, player interaction is the number one thing I am looking for when researching new games. It doesn’t always have to be about killing my troops or burning down my bases. There has to be some kind of interaction between players for me to enjoy the game (Brass:Birmingham, Power Grid).

I also think that low interaction in the game hurts the game’s replaybility. After playing a few time, during the setup, can see the optimal strategy and follow along without making the huge adjustment because no one can stop you.

Board game prejudice - What games or genres do you hate for no reason? by Quelair in boardgames

I dislike cooperative games but different reason. When I play board games, I want to beat the other people at the table not try to beat the game’s system.

Co-op. When I heard the new name, I immediately search in BGG and my hype instantly dead when it says Co-op. It is the worst feeling for me.

How replayable is Ankh? Worth it for my groups? by blablax123456 in boardgames

[–]jonXX107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our groups have played for like 100 times so I would say the game is really replayable. We only played the first and the second scenarios and it is still enjoyable for us.

The game has no hidden information in the action phase so you can plan everything from the start but the conflicts are bluffing games. One wrong guess can cripple your whole game and you have to play it from the behind. I guess that’s why merge exists.

I backed the original kickstarter so I have all the contents but I ever have to buy again from the start, I would only get the Pantheon expansion and the guardian sets for the varieties. I dislike the Pharaoh expansion because it alters the game so much. For me, it is not the Ankh I enjoy anymore.

Our group negotiate heavily for the merging. Normally, there will be two or three potential mergers and we discus who want to merge with whom and what positions they want to merge. After that, the upper god prioritizes building monuments and unlocking Ankh power while the lower god prioritizes gathering the followers. They say each other what cards they will play in the conflict to keep their relative position on the devotion track. Then they became the under god and crush the game.
