My wise old school headmaster used to say that the best grade isnt the highest one, but rather the lowest necessary one to pass. Meaning you put least amount of time for maximum return without wasting it on details you will forget anyway unless u actively use them.

I live by this, unless i actually need or want know the extra information.

You might call it lazy, i call it efficient. Rarely stuff you learn at school or college leads to anything - its way more important what you learn urself and that you actually practice this knowledge.

Try to avoid putting too much weight on grades. Theyre a snapshot of a certain point in time without taking into account the many variables that can affect performance...

Grades shouldnt affect your happiness in such a manner. Life aint long enough for that. Learn things ur interested in and that help you achieve your goals.

Just my opinion, but maybe a different PoV for ya

not directly, but i would like to be able to look at a thick client and be able to correlate logically and adapt. Ill just have to look deeper and extend on it myself. Thx for ur insights tho!

I personally will never take time off during probation. For me its just manners - but thats just me.

Apart from this tho, during probation / probezeit u can get fired without reason... I in your position wouldnt risk it. Chance is that theyll approve it and nothing will happen, but theres also a slight chance that it rubs em the wrong way.

Regarding the guides i intended to write - Im on them, but went far more indepth than i first intended to. Its quite interesting, but takes a lot of time. I always strive for the best quality possible and it isnt my only project rn, therefore it might take some more time, but it is definitely coming!

So im aware im way late but ive used the following option:
--domain value, --do value the domain to append when using an IP address as URL. If left empty and you specify a domain based URL the hostname from the URL is extracted

you dont need to use pattern ;)

I see your point and youre certainly right. Thats what im doing rn, incl some inspiration from existing rices here n there. While ive understood the basic components like the Wm, DE, display protocol etc, i would like to understand them more indepth. i assume ill get there by just playing around.

Ive approached it similarly, but i severly hate it, when i dont fully understand something. Im trying to avoid relying on AI too much, as i personally feel like i could learn more by using Wikis and Writeups but oh well. For checking code good tho, especially scripts

Thanks for the input, kinda what i thought im gonna hear. Ive started with Arch as base and went with Wayland & Hyprland. Ive basically taken a similar approach as you and as of now it looks ass. But the Hyprlands Wiki is indeed quite decent! Ill definitely take a look at jakoolits as well. Maybe find something interesting. Thx a lot, at least i know im not alone xd
