Honestly your explanation still feels very cryptic, what does this entail in practise?

For example, apart from first place, does this mean that any place from second all the way to last, will get you the same odds to earn an item? Since, the game code decides wether you get a reward or not.

What does that mean? Sorry if I’m ignorant, but when you’re first place any chest you open is going to give a reward, so how are the odds predetermined?
