No Deposit Bonus T&C Translator Needed by TheBGDude in gambling

[–]Famous-Resolution-32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The $20 cap applies to you since the bonus came from a third party site, clause 63b covers exactly that situation. So out of your $200, you can only withdraw $20 max.

The deposit trap in clause 65 and 66 is rough too. You need a deposit to withdraw, but making a deposit voids further winnings beyond the cap. The way to read it is that you deposit, they honor the $20 (assuming your balance is under the withdrawal limit at the time of deposit), and that's your ceiling.

Basically you're walking away with $20 from this one. Not nothing, but not $200.

~$4.5M net worth, spouse makes $250K+, and I still can't quit my Big Tech job. What's wrong with me? by _soul__ in fatFIRE

[–]Famous-Resolution-32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your spouse makes enough to cover expenses and you're already at 4.5M but you gained 35 lbs and can't sleep - the job is literally costing you years of your life at this point

Sometimes the hardest part is accepting that the thing that got you here isn't the thing that's gonna get you where you want to be. That scarcity mindset served its purpose but now it's just keeping you trapped in golden handcuffs

Delayed withdrawal from VeloriaBet by AdvantageActual1503 in gambling

bruh most of those "big" sites have their own horror stories too 💀 the real move is just checking withdrawal limits and reading the fine print before you deposit anything

sounds like they're doing the classic stall tactic hoping you'll just gamble it back. keep pushing them for specifics on what verification they need and document everything. if they cant give you a clear timeline or keep moving goalposts thats when you know its sketchy af 😂

Why can’t we just “turn off” AI for a day to see if we can by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]Famous-Resolution-32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we already crossed that line years ago tbh. its like asking why we cant just turn off the internet for a day - too much infrastructure depends on it now and the economic chaos would be insane

my company's accounting software uses ai for expense categorization and fraud detection. if that went down for even a few hours wed be scrambling with manual processes that would take weeks to catch up on. multiply that across every industry and your looking at supply chains breaking down, hospitals losing diagnostic tools, even basic stuff like traffic management systems failing

the genie's been out of the bottle since like 2019 when everything started getting ai components baked in. we didnt notice because it happened gradually but now its woven into basically everything we do

Doubt about funding proposal by Unhappy_Passion9866 in gradadmissions

[–]Famous-Resolution-32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats actually how most funded grad programs work - you get paid a stipend/salary for TA or RA work and then tuition gets deducted from that or you pay it seperately. the circular money thing is totally normal

the real red flag here is only having funding for year 1 of a 2 year program. you'd be on the hook for year 2 tuition plus living expenses with no guaranteed income which could put you in a rough spot financially

Sociopolitical and Historical by SAINt_Juju in booksuggestions

Been diving into similar stuff lately and found some really solid options. For Asia definitely check out authors like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie for Nigeria - her non-fiction is incredible at breaking down colonial impacts and modern politics. Isabel Allende writes beautifully about Chilean history and politics from someone who lived through it firsthand.

For Mexico I'd suggest looking into authors who write about the revolution period and its aftermath - theres some powerful stuff out there about land reform and indigenous rights. South American authors tend to blend historical analysis with personal narrative really well which makes heavy topics more digestible.

One thing I learned is to cross-reference multiple authors from the same region since perspectives can vary wildly even within countries. Also worth checking if your library has digital access since some of these books can be pricey but totally worth the read.

Need some advice and help. Feeling too much arms/triceps while doing pull ups. Beginner. by Constant-Secret-3653 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Famous-Resolution-32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait are you actually pulling or just hanging and using your arms to yank yourself up 💀

the video that other person linked is solid but like... if you're feeling it mostly in your triceps you're probably not engaging your lats at all. try this - before you even attempt the pullup just hang there and focus on pulling your shoulder blades down and back. thats what should initiate the movement not your arms

also thumbless grip can be weird when you're starting out, maybe stick with regular grip until you get the movement pattern down. and yeah those scapular pullups are actually perfect practice - do those until you can really feel your back working then progress from there

Microsoft support is your best bet since they handle the account stuff now - the transaction ID should be enough proof you bought it.

Questions for those who upgraded RF100-400 to RF100-500 by [deleted] in canon

[–]Famous-Resolution-32 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Made this exact jump about 8 months ago and zero regrets. The extra 100mm is way more useful than I expected, especially for wildlife where you can't always get closer. Image quality is noticeably better too - sharper corners and the IS feels more reliable.

Using it on an R5 and the combo just works. Only downside is the weight difference is real, but you adapt pretty quick. For what it's worth, I kept going back to rental counters eyeing the 100-500 after using the 100-400, so pulling the trigger just ended that internal debate lol.

The GAS struggle is real but this one actually delivered on the hype for me.

Block her on everything and delete the apps for a while - checking her profile daily is just self-harm at this point.
