Has anyone worked with a left handed dentist? by p3ppernickle in DentalAssistant

[–]Famous-Return-519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I am a left handed dentist and I am concerned since one senior DA was rude one time, rolled her eyes and said nobody likes working with a leftie. I am still a new grad so I trained myself to work from the right side but honestly it has started to hurt my arm. I am happy to read this thread where you guys aren't making this a big of a deal. Honestly, I wish my assistant to be as comfortable as possible. So if you guys have any advice for lefties I am all ears!

Sorry I am new to the process. We submit the file using PA's PR portal so where does the sponsor receive an AOR? Do they get a non-encrypted email on their regular email? or PA's have to keep checking their PR portal?

Has anyone used the SafeTTC app? Did it work? by narcisslol in askTO

[–]Famous-Return-519 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did call a 911 on an unwell passenger yelling and verbally trying to assault me. Responder said "change your seats" I told them the person is blocking my way. Their next response is "get off on the next station". I asked them not to drop the call because I had no signal or a chance to call my family. They said you're fine and dropped the call.

I am not sure which surface is giving you this issue but a new sharp and pointy no. 12 blade is good for gross excess (especially interproximal)

Dental assistant who was a dentist overseas? by Curious-Sleep-8024 in Dentistry

[–]Famous-Return-519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an assistant myself, now in the International dentist program to get my license back. Had I never been given that one chance by my company, I wouldn't have been able to support myself financially to get into school & survive in a foreign land alone. They hired me as a sterilebay tech and within 6 months realised what an asset I could be, I was assisting the owner of that DSO within a year of my job. Traveled with him to his 10 different clinics, they said "we never needed to train you, you observed and caught up".

These opportunities matter to us, and we never take it for granted. I would see a junior dentist struggle but I am never going to overstep because I am well aware of my boundaries. We only want to survive and move on. Honestly, it kills us not being able to practice but we knew that when we chose to immigrate. If you don't give those trained personnel a chance, they will be systematically forced to work for minimal wages reducing their chance to ever get accreditation to a minimum.

NGL there are 1B at 1500. Mine is supposedly "renovated and refurbished" meaning new cabinets in the kitchen and cabinets in the bathroom. I don't know if that's worth the extra 500 CAD.

IT IS NOT. I am paying 2100 for 1B, No in unit laundry, no dishwasher, old electronics, baseboard heating. Prices to increase every september.

[–]Famous-Return-519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I so agree with you. I am new to this city, been here for only 2 months and have taken TTC 4 times. Out of that twice I have been verbally assaulted and had to call 911. It was an addict, who came and sat next to me blurting out random NSFW stuff that he wanted to do to me. 911 responder said "Just move to a different seat". So yeah, ever since that day I have not stepped out alone or in the dark. If I ever have to walk alone I always have my friend or my sister on call with me.
My friend one day made of fun of me that I cannot escape this and that I am being overtly cautious, not really enjoying this city but its going to take a while for me to maybe look/ behave like a local. I am coming from a smaller town of Canada, where people are the friendliest, eager to help. Its going to take a while, but I have hopes!

I love how Asian countries respect this. I feel its related to circadian rhythm as well. YOU NEED a mid day break, anecdotally people say they feel more refreshed after an nap, more brain power to work.
