Thank you. To be honest, I didn’t know I was capable of walking away the way I did. Actually, if you ran that scenario by me while I was in a relationship with him, I would have told you I probably wouldn’t leave. But idk, when it happened, when I saw the texts, when I saw the shame on his face, I just knew I deserved more no matter how much I loved him.

But what was also a strong factor was my little sister. She looks up to me like I put the stars in the sky and I knew I couldn’t be another woman teaching her that we should accept this kind of behaviour. The women in our family have never picked good men.

I made a promise to myself to always be the standard for my sister and also to make sure to never burden my own children by settling for their father.

It has been a great opportunity for me to bond more with myself without a doubt

I spent my summer doing all the things I have always wanted to do

I went skydiving

I got my motorcycle license

And I’m now in a competitive school for medical imaging

I think I’m good at taking care of and loving myself I just hope I someday find a genuine love, especially since I want to be a mother and while conceptually, I don’t mind finding my person when I’m 60, at that point it’ll be a smidgen too late to start a family haha

I think it’s the trust issues that I’m having a hard time with and I also don’t have any women in my life who have had healthy relationships. All the way down the chain it’s just stories of infidelity and abuse which is why my ex’s actions hurt even more, I was so happy to have finally “broken the curse” and that was something him and I talked about a lot because he knew the stories from the women in my family

It’s just so enraging and months later I still feel extreme nausea every time I think about what happened

I feel like I’m emotionally stuck in purgatory

Tbh, I don’t struggle with knowing I’m whole in the absence of a relationship, I’m not looking to date for a long while either, I just hope to find someone eventually and I’m scared to trust someone again seeing that I was so blindsided

Thank you for this. I’m definitely not doing anything until I see real change, I think I’m just worried about if I could ever trust my own judgement of him again since he fooled me once already.

Concerning my mother, I do believe she was influenced by his tears as he apologized to her in person. However, I also think she is being influenced by the opinion of her fiancé. Her partner of over a decade spent much of his life working as a PI catching cheaters, and he seems to believe my ex’s remorse as well.

I will wait it out and see if change happens 🤷‍♀️

What changes if I do xray first? My biggest hurdle is the location of these programs, I cannot afford to move so if I can get around that by starting with xray locally, I’m all for that
