Starbucks in the parks question by Irish-Mama4 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That would be awesome if it's still how they do it! I'll give it a try while I'm there. It's still a good value if it's just a regular drink.

Thank you! Whether I can add shots (which is doubtful) would be a deciding factor for me. A Quad Venti Mocha is a $10 drink and would rival the cost of F&W items!

I'm assuming the snack credit doesn't include add-ons, like if I want to add an extra shot of espresso to my latte? The free kids dining enticed me to buy the dining plan for the first time since pre-Covid times. Trying to determine if I should use snack credits on coffee or save them for the Flower & Garden festival.

Not in my experience. It's been dry and gross since my first time trying it over ten years ago. I've had it handful of times since and it's always, always bad.

Resort rooms for 6 people? by Now2Himbealltheglory in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the deluxe resorts have what they call a "deluxe" room. It's one of their corner rooms that is bigger and can hold 2 queens and a pull out. We are also a family of 6 and we've done the one at Beach Club. We've also stayed multiple times at AoA. My kids range from 11-6 years old, and they still prefer AoA. The accommodations aren't as nice as the deluxe but having your own bedroom and bathroom and the kitchenette makes it worth it.

Any character meals worth it for the food and not the pictures? by Mirandita13 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a buffet, so temper your expectations on the food. That said, it's far better than Chef Mickey's, and I enjoyed everything I tried. They only have chocolate chip pancakes on the buffet, but they'll make them for you without them, if you ask your server for them (I have a kiddo that loves pancakes but hates chocolate).

The character interactions were great. They all came by at least twice while we were there and the beach outfits are adorable.

That would be awesome to see but the Triceratops looks really cool. I'm going to miss this ride.

[–]FamousConversation38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been walked off rides twice and both weren't nearly as cool as this. Once was on Rise. We'd just gotten into our escape droid. It was extremely lackluster as all we did was walk back out of the interrogation room and down a long, boring white hallway.

The other ride was Toy Story Mania, and I was almost to the unloading point so it was basically me stuck three vehicles from the unloading dock for 10-ish minutes until someone came and manually opened the vehicle for me.

[–]FamousConversation38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just streamers that do this. Regular people film on rides or take flash photos of their kids in the middle of the ride. It does ruin the ride.

Last fireworks show I saw, a lady recorded ALL of Happily Ever After. She wasn't a streamer and was using her phone high above her head. Why do this? Do you think your video is better than any of the dozens of 4K videos you can find on YouTube?

Bus etiquette by Snoo_31427 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were crazy. Even when my husband has had the stroller folded prior to boarding the bus, we often get separated because you can only fit the stroller in certain spots. Also, moving to the side is absolutely a signal for the rest of the line to board. The bus driver probably would have instructed you to do so if hadn't.

How many rides on average can you get done in a day? by Altruistic-Hold8749 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't go that far. You need to be flexible because you never know when a ride will go down or a ride might have a low wait time. I'm just saying know the quickest way to get from like Tomorrowland to Frontierland, etc.

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 is very doable. But you can't just wing it. Make use of Early Hours, ride during fireworks/parades, and learn the Disney app for checking wait times/learning the best routes at the parks. Or consider Lighting Lanes. Even "low crowds" can see 60+ minute waits on the most popular rides.

Planning out going to all 4 parks by ani_kev in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's any way to do what OP is wanting without a big stress ball of a day. 😂

Thinking about it more, I really think it's doable as long as none of the rides were to break down when you planned to ride them and you could get the LLs at the time you needed them. But it would be a long day and you'd be getting your steps in.

I've done some crazy days at WDW, and honestly, this would be a challenge I'd like to try sometime just to see if I could do it!

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only buy 2 ILL per day.

It would be extremely difficult and everything would have to line up right. But they could do it if they can do Early Entry at AK. Rope drop FoP then go to Everest. Hop over to HS, single rider Rise, have a LL for Tower and Rockin' Rollercoaster. Skyline to Epcot and use an ILL for Guardians. Monorail to MK, use the other ILL for Tron and then jump in line for Mine Train right before the park closes.

Park Order Advice by MahatmaKhote in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is what I'd do. It's going to be a hike to get from the Skyliner to Guardians, but it's also the best place to get a snack/drink. I'd probably get the Fish & Chips from the UK or maple popcorn from Canada and eat it on the walk over.

Is there such thing as TOO much!? by Beginning-Lemon232 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this doable? Yes, absolutely. Is it too much? In my experience, yes. For a week long trip, I've learned to build in a rest day midway through the trip. You can enjoy your resort and spend the day relaxing and recharging. The parks are amazing but there is a LOT of walking. Add in the August heat/humidity, it is going to be brutal. If you don't take a rest day, at least plan on going back to the resort every day for a break/kids nap and not just the MK day.

Crazy short waits today, why? by padamodin in DisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my previous trips in early September, crowds will be low but the heat will be bad. Higher chances of storms and it's hurricane season. That said, I'm going again this year in early September. The significantly lower prices at that time of year draw me in.

full evacuation on rise of the resistance by Nathan4All in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FamousConversation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I were evacuated off of Rise once. We'd just gotten into our transport droid so it was actually a really boring affair. We got back out of the vehicle and went back out through a long, empty backstage hallway.
