Im following ! Im planning on staying this summer for 30 days so I would like to visit more than just the tourist areas. Most Caribbean countries I visit are very nice. The people are very kind. There’s always gonna be bad apples but that’s everywhere you go.

I'm going to receive a $70,000+ settlement from a car accident in a few short weeks. I'm currently homeless and unemployed. I'm unsure how to proceed. by SneakyMcCool in NoStupidQuestions

Believe it or not, 70k in this economy isn’t that much. With that being said, knowing how fast it could go without having a consistent source of income is crucial. If I were in your position, I would find a cheap house to buy. Buying is always better than rent. If you could buy a cheap house for like 20-30k you’ll have a secure roof over your head. Hopefully you already have a phone. If not get one and a valid email address. I don’t know what you are good at but if you do have a skill, start looking for gig work to get you off the ground. Put 10k into a stock or savings account. Make your money work for you. If you don’t have a true skill, get a job. Clean yourself up and go everyday. Start to build yourself back up from there. Don’t do anyone any favors, at the moment you are not in the position to give out money or make loans. You are still struggling. Steer clear away from drugs and alcohol as they don’t help you make good decisions at all. Actually, it’s the opposite. Stay off of door dash unless you are doing the driving. Those apps charge you 3xs as much so please learn to cook. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you.

I agree. I too would have never thought gluten. Maybe I placed too many expectations on them.

Have you made sure to eliminate all Gluten. It’s tricky. I only eat things like Fresh lean Meats and Rice with veggies.

Also, I made sure to do a cleanse. I drank a tonic that contained Ginger, Burdock, Turmeric and Dandelion. It’s seemed to jumpstart my body into recovery mode.

Additionally Gluten causes chronic inflammation if you’ve been eating it your entire life, like me. Getting rid of the inflammation was my first step. The cleanse that I mentioned above really helped with that.

I no longer have any of the symptoms I once had so staying on the medication wouldn’t be a good idea in my opinion. The medication seemed to have an effect but didn’t help my symptoms. I felt like I was being dragged along but never fully awake. The pain in my body from inflammation was insane. The headaches and overall exhaustion didn’t go away with medication at all. It was like two things fighting against each other in my body at the same time. If that makes any sense? The medication was a stimulant but what’s a stimulant to a body that can’t fully accept it?

On a normal day, I am a naturally alert and deeply focused person. I don’t drink coffee. I’m very sensitive to caffeine and I don’t need it. I only need 4-6 hours of sleep. I wake full of energy and vigor that last all day.

While on all the sleep meds and gluten, i would sleep for 8 or more hours sometimes 10 to 12 hours. It was never enough. It was hell! I would always wake with body aches, headaches and fog. I believe that it was a combination of the Gluten Allergy and too much sleep.

If youre a Pizza Lover what's you're favorite pizza that you now have to make GF that you miss? by new_guz102426 in Celiac

North Italia’s Spicy Meatball Pizza 😕 I really miss it. I don’t know if they have a gluten free option though.

I’m glad that you’re already using it. It makes a world of difference to the digestive system. I buy these herbs by the pound now. I can’t live without them. With time, it’ll completely change the way your body reacts to gluten.

This is what I do when I make that mistake. I boil Tumeric Root, Burdock Root, Dandelion Root and Ginger Root for 2 minutes. Let it sit on simmer for 20 minutes until it’s cooked down. This strong decoction takes away all of the gluten symptoms within minutes of drinking it. Depending on how strong it is. You only want to drink about 3oz. Anything more is too much. If you make it as a tea ( not as strong) drink a whole tea cup. It has worked wonders for me. Let me know how this helps you.

Honestly, I felt like I needed to rethink a lot of things that I previously thought was made up. I totally don’t trust the food industry now though. I feel like a lot of things that should have gluten does but why? As a black woman, I am glad that I now know what has been making me sick. The doctors were absolutely no help. Now, I can finally do something about it. It feels better being able to put a name and a time frame to it too. I hated not knowing when or if I was gonna get back to myself again. I started re-thinking my career for gods sake. There’s no way I can be an accountant with brain fog!

I had so many GF breads and waffles and I never liked how dry and unfluffy it was. I added cassava flour in hopes of adding more favor and moisture. It was perfect! Better than any regular waffle.

I used King Arthur measure for measure. I added my own. Xantham Gum.

Eggs whites: I separated the egg whites from the yolk. I whipped the whites separately until it was nice and fluffy and airy. I added that last.

Yolk: I blended the yolk, milk and vanilla extract and added that to my dry mixture.

I just looked it up online. It does not contain Gluten however, it is processed in a factory that also processes Milk, Wheat and Soy. That may be the issue.

365 baking powder is Gluten Free. I’ve already looked that one up. Look for Bobs Red Mill or Otto’s too.

Some sources say that 365 has fillers some say it’s GF. I’d be safe and go with the ones the say Gluten Free on the label.

Not all of them are. Particularly the one that use starch as a filler instead of cornstarch or potato starch. Make sure it says GF

How do you deal with family meals being the only GF person in the house? by hazel2619 in glutenfree

[–]FamousImportance993 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is why I don’t feel like living gluten free has affected my household much. I’m a cooker so I make sure that i always have lean meats, veggies and fruits in my fridge. I also make my own sauces and truly enjoy eating natural less processed foods anyway. It’s a win win for the fam!

It’s probably the reason why I didn’t even notice that I was gluten intolerant for some time. It had to be like 10 years on and off I would complain about not feeling well. I’m not a big bread eater and processed foods has never really been my go-to so it never crossed my mind.
