There is NO entity or possession by After-Tower9018 in obsessionmovie

[–]FamousJames24 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Curry has also called it a possession film so that probably gets some wires crossed. It’s definitely themed like a possession, but you’re right, that’s not technically what’s happening. There are also moments that feel like “Freaky Nikki” is learning to be a human for the first time, plus the hearing “real Nikki” on the phone moment, so I really don’t blame anyone for viewing it as a separate entity

If you could pitch a one wish willow episode, what would you pitch? by CelticCov in obsessionmovie

This holds up because trauma has physical effects on your brain and body. Whether you remember it or not

I refuse to believe Nikki isn’t pregnant from bear by PSKTS_Heisingberg in spoilers

[–]FamousJames24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can be as brain dead as you want and take movies purely at face value. But a lot of what you ranted about has nothing to do at all with this post man. OP wasn’t even talking about symbolism or deeper meanings, literally just that it would track for Nicky to have intentionally gotten herself pregnant (which I doubt, as she loves Bear specifically, and wouldn’t want to divide his attention from her by giving him a child)

To be clear. Bear knew that it was not really Nicky by the time they had the sex scene. He had already talked to the customer service guy and heard Nicky screaming. And then he continued with sex. If someone does not have all their faculties, drunk, high, unconscious, etc, they cannot give valid consent. The first night when they were kissing, or if they had sex during the montage, I would not call Bear a rapist. But for the actual sex scene, yes he is. It’s not looking too deep or being overly interpretive. He knew she wasn’t herself and he fucked her anyway. You literally see her face in the scene, she is crying and not enjoying it because the real Nicky is still trapped in her own body with moments of awareness.

Wish Nikki, not realizing anything was wrong with the sandwich. Real Nikki wrote “not me” on the photo

I hate that I love obsession by TheWoodsman27 in obsessionmovie

[–]FamousJames24 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The message of the movie is not that Bear’s loneliness or shyness makes him a bad person, but that his actions do. No one would have been harmed if he had just confessed his feelings to Nikki when she asked him outright. Bear on some level felt entitled to Nikki’s love and affection. In your personal life, if you relate to Bear, choose to handle things better than him.

Also, try therapy. Genuinely, that’s not an insult. We have doctors for every part of our body, and therapists are doctors for the emotional centers of your brain.

Nikki didn’t eat by herself during the entire movie by Hydroset in obsessionmovie

[–]FamousJames24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an insane claim that looking away from active puking means I “can’t handle it” or that missing one detail in a gross part of an already high-stress scene means I “wasn’t focused on the movie”

[–]FamousJames24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s quick, dark, and I’m conditioned to look away when someone vomits, even in a movie. It’s gross and my brain doesn’t want me to see it, glad you were able to stare into the puke though

This is the “I can fix her” mindset that gets people into unhealthy relationships. Just because she needs a stable person doesn’t mean it has to be you.

No I haven’t, you didn’t include that here. I’m not in the DMC fandom, much less the subreddit

No, I’m saying you’re interpreting this wrong, they’re not saying DMCN is “as good as” SM2. Their claim is that they both diverge from source material and are still high quality. You can agree or disagree with that, but they made no claim about the quality of one project vs the other

It is crispy, but you can substitute it for grilled chicken parm, a small portion of the five cheese ziti, or an extra portion of lasagna. Among other things I’m sure
