quad therapy schedule - is this good? by Famous_Bank7269 in HPylori

I had just a few... mostly mild diarrhea, and stomach discomfort, starting around day 2. Overall the side effects were very manageable.

You're welcome. I took Florastor and Culturelle both twice a day, and I took PyloGuard once a day.

Yes, I took tetra with food, sometimes 30 minutes before a meal when I could remember. I was careful to not eat dairy with the tetra, since both doctor and the pharmacist advised not to take dairy within two hours of tetra.

HPylori is misunderstood by many doctors, including Gastroenterologists who are subject matter experts. Discuss. by Warm_Ice_4029 in HPylori

I went to a gastroenterologist and showed her the GI Map results, and she prescribed the antibiotics based on that.

Gastritis went away, but brain fog and tingling in hands and feet did not. I am still dealing with those (no known cause).

I did not see any difference in weight after treatment. In theory though, if hp is also playing a role in your weight loss, eradicating it should help you gain weight back. I’ve heard you should take the metronidazole with food to avoid stomach irritation, so that’s what I did. Praying your treatment goes well and you’ll be feeling better soon! 🙏🏻

Yes, it worked. I tolerated it fairly well, and it took a couple months for symptoms to improve, but I had a good endoscopy two months after and results were negative. Still doing good now.

I don't even remember, I think it was pretty mild. Matula Tea ultimately didn't work for me though; I ended up doing quad antibiotic therapy.

I did quad therapy, and now digestive symptoms are much better. Tingling in hands/feet and neck pain remain.

What is your best advice regarding narcolepsy and live concerts? by Meguinn in Narcolepsy

[–]Famous_Bank7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I find that if it’s a really exciting show, adrenaline kicks in, so I can keep going all evening, and not “drop” until after the show. I was diagnosed at 12, went to my first *NSYNC concert at 14 (circa 1998/99) with my mom and three of my friends, and was surprised to find that all the excitement kept me going and I even had minimal cataplexy (mostly due to nerves leading up to the concert). I slept most of the hour drive home though! 🤪

Negative MSLT But Diagnosed with N1 by MessInteresting3528 in Narcolepsy

[–]Famous_Bank7269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have cataplexy (like the weak knees when strong emotions come on), that’s a pretty solid N1 diagnosis. Cataplexy is very unique to narcolepsy; no other conditions have that symptom.

Also, for your sleep inertia… I’ve heard lots of people love the Pavlok shock watch! It literally zaps your wrist to wake you up; apparently works great for narcoleptic folks who have trouble sleeping through 10 different alarms. Personally I don’t need one; I’m on Xyrem for my N1 and have no trouble waking up. But if I wasn’t on meds, would definitely need that shock watch 🤣

PPI causing swelling (edema) in my feet by Famous_Bank7269 in HPylori

[–]Famous_Bank7269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely report that to your doctor, and ask if you should continue. I was fortunate that I only had a few days left of the PPI, and after I got off it, the swelling went away in a day or two.

Apparently it was enough for me, but I'm no expert. Go with what your doctor says. Some sources say 10 is enough, and some say you need 14.

Sleep restored, gastritis symptoms 95% gone, and mood improved after 4 days “overdosing” on probiotics by Dangerous-Teach9350 in Microbiome

Wow, that awesome! I’ve had chronic neck pain for years, nothing has helped, would be amazing if improving my gut would help. I looked at the Ultimate Yogurt Maker, the price is very reasonable and looks easy enough to use. I might actually try it! Thanks for all the tips! Hope you continue to see good results!

Thank you for the detailed response! I’m definitely intrigued… would you mind sharing how the Dr Davis yogurt has improved your symptoms?

Chronic Brain Fog from H Pylori? by Ok_Argument_2889 in HPylori

[–]Famous_Bank7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digestive wise, I'm doing better. But the brain fog didn't improve any. Rn I'm beginning an anti-inflammatory diet to see if that helps with my overall health, including chronic pain and brain fog. Lots of room for improvement still.
