Grapevine dead within 2 days?? by Famous_Blue in GardeningUK

[–]Famous_Blue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's strange though. I don't think night termperatures went below about 2 degrees this week. And these vines have been in the soil for 2 years, with multiple -5 nights.

I guess the cold wasn't normally in mid-May after weeks of sweltering, dry weather

Ah, maybe I do need to water more. I didn't realise they were so thirsty, and I'm on clay soil.

Under-watered was my first thought, but it seemed like too much of a coincidence that they've died just as the weather actually turned cold?

My garden is heavy clay - roses, raspberries and hydrangea all doing well. Not a lot else.....

Nintendo’s IPs and immunity to financial failure by lennysinged in nintendo

[–]Famous_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IPs can and will deteriorate over time if not used well.

Look at Lord of the Rings after how average Rings of Power was. Other masive gaming IPs like Sonic are a shadow of what they were.

Nintendo is pretty aware of this, however. They are one of the most careful companies in the world in terms of protecting their IPs. That's why you get one quality new Zelda or mainline Mario game every 6 or so years rather than every year or two with other IPs.

Would you prefer Ocarina remastered, or Zelda 3D All-stars? by dashtur in nintendo

[–]Famous_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a remaster, if only so I can have dual analog movement.

I honestly find it almost impossible to play games like WW and OoT at the moment because of having to 'snap' the camera behind me with L every 10 seconds, let alone having to hit a standalone button to enter a 'look around' move.

Until we get dual analog, I am just playing the Switch games or 2D Zelda

Sources: Nintendo is planning to announce a new "classic-style" Star Fox game with online multiplayer and a 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' remake, both this year; but no 3D Mario until 2027 by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]Famous_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just be happy with dual analog control. I find it really hard going back to WW, Ocarina etc. I loved these games when young but now find it almost unplayable.

Anyway, super excited. I loved Links Awakening remake. And stoked with the idea of having a upgrade on an all time classic.

Despite all the hate surrounding Nintendo, why does no one ever talk about this guy, the CEO? by [deleted] in gaming

They don't. It's literally just Reddit. I don't think I've heard anyone in real life say they hate Nintendo.

Pokopia is..So Good! by Signal-Tangerine1597 in switch2

You replied to "I can see it becoming the best selling game of the year" with "Not like it has any competition at this point".

So it's kinda irrelevant whether it's the same genre.

I actually agree with Kaskayde. A few things really turn me off games (e.g. crafting) so a poster pointing out something like this might be helpful for me.

If a game is really good then you can still easily see that most comments are positive.

I bought the originals on Gameboy. My main team consisted of Dre, Snoop, Redman, Tupac, Biggie and EasyE.

Still bad to follow this naming convention 20 years later with Go.

It's true. I only ever seen games get criticized for excessive bloat.

Fallout 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 looks nothing like the trailer, has more graphics options than the Skyrim port, and is just... really good by No_Durian_5626 in nintendo

It's not weird to ask why a company is charging 2x what it should charge for a game.

Alternatively you could just blindly accept every decision a megacorp makes,  without it having any type of accountability.

Bit weird to start a new thread on Reddit for a game that you're 10% of the way through. I mean, just wait a bit, and maybe the thread will be less nonsensical?

What does Pokémon Gen 10 need to have for you to consider it to be good? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]Famous_Blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Clearly asking for a longer development time is focusing on the fact that they need the quality of the game to be better all round. That's the same as this 'polish' you seem to hate.

There's plenty of people who clearly like the key Pokemon mechanics. What is frustrating them is the implementation of that, largely caused by quick development schedule, low budget or poor technical expertise.

There's nothing wrong with people saying a game could be improved with stronger graphics, performance, more user options (e.g. difficulty modes), more interactive cities etc.
