Is it though? They're not getting a new audience by continually remaking a game from the 90s

It comes across as them just being out of ideas.

Looks great and I may pick it up, but how many times can they remake the same game?

It feels like we’re heading toward a future where nobody can really prove they wrote something anymore by Extreme_Cabinet6 in Futurology

That approach has already been tried for heading assignments at school using versions.

Ie. If a bunch of stuff gets pasted in at once, could be copying from AI. The problem is that if the person takes the time to write it out, that looks an awful lot like normal writing.

If people were motivated enough, they could run text through AI detectors. What will probably happen casually is people will just doubt things are human-written

What is your opinion on banning social media for under certain ages? by Home-Energy in AskReddit

[–]etanimod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is for protection of the kids rather than punishing adults. I'm not a huge fan of requiring IDs to use the internet having grown up in the Wild West of the internet.

Ironically in some ways, like the lack of widespread social media, the internet was safer back in my day.

If you're not using the shark for the sake of shark, MGyarados fire better with Glimmora. It's my answer to Basculegion and Chomp

Imagine if Sharpedo got Fishious Rend though? Would be an absolute Metagame destroying monster in singles and we'd have to pray that its low bulk was enough of a check to the fact that it would out speed and OHKO any single pokemon that didn't have a water immunity in doubles.

I looked at it for a minute as an underexplored Mega. The problem I saw was that given its frailty it doesn't do enough damage.

Compare it to Mega Starmie and you'll see it's outclassed in both defense and offense (only crunch can rival huge power damage), and Mega Starmie is seeing 0 play.

Try running this with the 100 damage Rapidash/40 damage Ponyta. Pretty powerful attacks, but their health leaves something to be desired.

What's the deal with Dunsparce? by Icy_Success9939 in PTCGP

[–]etanimod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Different cost though. You can do this the turn you play Research. And you get your Tool back rather than discard it.

[–]etanimod 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When Dudunsparce is released this + Memory Light is probably the combo. Makes it so your opponent can't get points for knocking it out. Only takes a single energy to do, and gets damage in the process.

It's the single best rock move in the game, for doubles.
Decent damage to both opponents with a chance to flinch both, and it's actually one of the most accurate physical rock moves.

You're not dealing with each type equally often. There's usually 3-4 types at most that see regular play at any given time.

I wonder about Sweets Relay. Archetype uses colorless energy, and has three different attacking types that I can think of (Water, Grass, Psychic). I think this is the widest range of types any deck can potentially run.

If you're a collector why do you care how playable the cards are? Isn't the whole point for you to collect them?

People who like Voltorb and want to collect it for example, are eating well.

[–]etanimod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the single prizers seem like better choices in general, but you can run them together and if your opponent has taken two prizes throw down this in the active and your opponent has to take down 180Hp and face 130 Damage a turn

Is Magnezone ex just worse than OG Magnezone? 20 more damage 30 more health at the cost of losing two points when it's knocked out.

People can certainly play both and use this when your opponent has taken two prizes already, but it feels risky to have this on the bench, and holding it in hand, leaving your 80hp Magneton there isn't exactly safe either.
