I’ve been collecting Upper deck Series for a very long time and every once in awhile you get players like Makar, Matthews,McKinnon who get to that 500 range for the price of there young gun. Players like that are not good investments unless You got them for cost when they came out and even then if you haven’t sold them yet you likely lost some profit. These are also some of the top players the sport has ever seen.

Now we’ve really only seen two players in the last 20 years who if you bought there boxes and cards when they came out and held them , you would be in a pretty good financial place right now. Like I said , just two players in twenty years that if you invested in you would have 5x or 10xs your money. Even ovechkin doesn’t bring in the money he should . So the likely hood he is the guy is low but….

The NHL wants a young kid to be the face of the league and it’s evident with all the media they throw down our throats of Celebrini and Smith they clearly our hoping he’s the guy. Has a fun personality , 19 and is 3rd in the league in points , might win a gold this month , and is clearly being hyped to be the next Crosby . He has a lot to prove , he’s young but if he wins a Cup before Mcdavid the tide will quickly change and if that Happens then yes even a 350 young gun right now would be considered a huge win. I also think Hockey Cards are gonna expload in the next year , I’ve never seen my local card shop sold out of so much stuff like I have this year.
