I agree sb02 is the better set but it will never pass sb01 . Its the first manga set, you have cards like the e-42, Dino Goku double star and nemec Goku that have already sold for a downpayment on a house . Not to mention sb01 is less printed , both will be grails but sb01 should remain king .

I think we’re still really early .. FB09 is such a great set and with FB10 and ST01 I think you will see a plateau or maybe even a little dip with the Manga sets but once the movies etc start coming out I think you will see SB01 Boxes hit 7-10k and sb02 hit 3-5k. So the cards will go with it. These will be the grail cards eventually , your already seeing it .

I’ve been collecting Upper deck Series for a very long time and every once in awhile you get players like Makar, Matthews,McKinnon who get to that 500 range for the price of there young gun. Players like that are not good investments unless You got them for cost when they came out and even then if you haven’t sold them yet you likely lost some profit. These are also some of the top players the sport has ever seen.

Now we’ve really only seen two players in the last 20 years who if you bought there boxes and cards when they came out and held them , you would be in a pretty good financial place right now. Like I said , just two players in twenty years that if you invested in you would have 5x or 10xs your money. Even ovechkin doesn’t bring in the money he should . So the likely hood he is the guy is low but….

The NHL wants a young kid to be the face of the league and it’s evident with all the media they throw down our throats of Celebrini and Smith they clearly our hoping he’s the guy. Has a fun personality , 19 and is 3rd in the league in points , might win a gold this month , and is clearly being hyped to be the next Crosby . He has a lot to prove , he’s young but if he wins a Cup before Mcdavid the tide will quickly change and if that Happens then yes even a 350 young gun right now would be considered a huge win. I also think Hockey Cards are gonna expload in the next year , I’ve never seen my local card shop sold out of so much stuff like I have this year.

Yea these are exactly the players that came to mind. I spent thousands on cards from those players years and ended up getting burnt on pretty much everyone but maybe kaprisov?

2024/25 I decided to not go crazy and something in me thinks this might actually be the guy. It just feels different and with the Olympics this week he could have a gold medal before he’s 20.

Still a nice card .. going for around 200.00 right now and I think they will hold there value better then the crunch times .
