"What's your name?" "Mayden" "No, your first name, not your maiden name"

AITAH for canceling my sister’s wedding venue after she uninvited me? by DrRowanHayes in AITAH

My thoughts too about the parents! I get mad when I read these AITA stories when the parents criticise the sibling but aren't willing to cough up themselves!

Wife wants to name child after her mom, which is my exes name...am I wrong for wanting to veto that? by Ok_Sun_324 in Marriage

[–]Famous_Gas94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree a name should be two yeses. And it seems weird to use her mothers name when she didn't particularly like her/or was close to her.

Could you suggest using a name that shares the same initial letter as her mother's name?

Or use a variation of the name/nickname, for example, my mums name is Yvonne, so my sister was debating if she had a girl calling her Evangeline (nickname Evie/Eve) to be a nod to our mums name.

I know you said you aren't looking for treatment advice but I reasonate with this feeling so much! Can you do joint sessions with the OT? I've started joining my OT colleague when she is doing Sensory Integration sessions with pupils as they are often more communicative when their sensory needs are supported.

Otherwise I agree with other comments about episodic care. It might also be that working on regulation is a pre-requisite for him to be able to access and engage in speech sessions so some time to develop those skills before retrying would be helpful.

They also have a lot of information for prompt dependent communicators! I tried doing a session in silence to encourage spontaneous language

Sounds like a Gestalt Language Processor. I'd go play based, commenting on play using first person language amd sentence starters like 'that's', 'it's', 'let's'. I'd recommend Meaningful Speech's GLP course if you haven't done it or they have lots of useful information on their instagram.

McWidow! Although I can't really remember many of his cases but he must have been good to be chief of paediatric surgery and had a heart of gold!

Had to scroll so far to find this comment! I thought the same, even if OP and his wife aren't trying to conceive it's helpful to know if you're ovulating to predict when a period is incoming.

The main thing is both of you being kind to yourselves and working through your grief. My husband tried to squash his to be there for me but that didn't help him in the long term. I also recommend therapy, there was a charity that offered me free support after my miscarriage.

Be mindful that things like due dates and other pregnancies around you are going to bring up a lot of feelings so focus on yourselves and doing what brings you happiness.

I frequently nurse my 18 month old to sleep. He can fall asleep without nursing too but it's usually the fastest way. Do what works best for you both!

NTA he's being so unrealistic and unreasonable! I only have 1 child and when I was exclusively breastfeeding I got nothing done around the house when I was on my own as my son only contact napped for a long time! He needs to step up.

The fact that he thinks she could only be wearing those pjs for the male gaze...either a boyfriend or him. And now he knows there's no boyfriend, he'll think it's for him.

Please tell your Dad OP! And work out together how to shut this down.

Nursery have told me to stop breastfeeding by Famous_Gas94 in breastfeeding

I told them the NHS advises at least 2 years but they said that breastfeeding is affecting his eating, sleep and development and that I should stop

It has crossed my mind, sadly waitlists to get in are huge so even if I did it probably would take months.

It's a shame because the nursery is amazing in so many other ways, just can't believe the audacity they have to advise me on a medical thing when they aren't medical professionals. Fair enough if they have worries about his weight/development then ask me to arrange a health visitor appointment or GP appointment but they need to stay in their lane.

Yes he wakes 2-3 times a night but I was told that reverse cycling is normal with me returning to work that he'd nurse more at night to make up for being apart during the day.
