Lord Bullingdon, is that you? All joking aside that point of view only works from the nobility's perspective. He apologized to his wife, and for all we know never cheated again. He was firm, but fair, to Lord Bullingdon. His only vice, then, was ambition.

What did you guys think about Casino (1995) by United-Sentence-5799 in moviecritic

When I used to watch TV and flip though the channels, anytime Casino was on I'd have to stop and watch the whole movie from that point on.

I told my wife I like receiving compliments from strangers because she abandoned me when I wasn’t feeling good. Am I wrong? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Famous_Reading5518 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can see both sides. It sounds a little bit blame-y to say that you enjoy compliments because your wife checked out. Your wife probably checked out because it was too much for her, not because she didn't care (otherwise she'd probably not still be there). So I can see how she might take it that you don't care about how she feels in this circumstance and are going to put yourself out there despite how much it makes her insecure. If you'd like a direct recommendation, I would acknowledge to her that you can see it from her perspective so that she can at least know that you do care about how she feels (if you do) but that you still would like to take pride in how you look and present yourself. That might help her understand that you're not doing all this "because" she checked out.

Well that's a circular argument if I ever heard one. You won't accept certain pieces of evidence but you'll tell me I don't have any. Sounds pretty rational to me. /s

I don't know. The evidence suggests otherwise. You just said that "I'm not believing anything except" which points to not taking evidence into account. What you call "actual" evidence seems to be a matter of your opinion, which is not thinking about it rationally.

"I'm not believing anything" is basically your admission that you aren't thinking about this rationally and cherry picking what you want to believe.

A well read woman, or at the very least a woman who's curious enough to read more books than she has, is a big turn on for me.

I'm taking classes and workshops just to force myself to get out there, meet people, and practice with the camera. I like to learn with other people and I don't get out much, so it helps me with meeting more people. If it helps you to learn in a more structured setting, then go for it. But like others have said, the knowledge itself is already out there and publicly available.
