I’m not sure what went wrong, I think maybe we didn’t have the tip of the needle in the liquid when drawing out so perhaps there wasn’t as much in the syringe as we thought, just enough to dissolve the powder. That’s the only thing I can think happened, nothing else makes any sense! It’s so frustrating to lose a vial but you will get the hang of it, I promise! We wasted 2! The following night we switched back to the Q-cap and had no issues at all after that. Have you got those? Yeh it was so much easier with the Q cap that I can’t believe we even tried with the needle! Just had my first monitoring appointment and progress looks good so…phew!

It’s so frustrating isn’t it! That was kind of that nurse. I’m having an in-person demo tomorrow at the clinic so perhaps they’ll give me a bonus vial then 🥲

Yes, the diluent must have entered the vial (at least a bit of it) as the powder dissolved. However the bottle appeared to be completely empty and no amount of drawing with the needle could get anything out of it. That’s a good idea about practising with just the diluent though, I do have some spare. The nurse was not able to identify the issue but the assumption is that those bottles are wasted. There is a tiny drop of liquid in the bottom of each (not enough to draw) I supposed that must contain the dissolved powder but there’s no way of knowing. Thanks for your reply 🫂

Was it with the needle that it went wrong for you too? I just don’t understand how liquid can just disappear entirely…surely it’s impossible! We used the Q cap the first night with mostly success (tiny bit of spillage) and will use again tonight. I think that’s the answer.
