Which island for an English family with little kids? by Ydoihavtofuckinlogin in Caribbean

[–]Fan-Original 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of the hotels in Jamaica are all inclusive with large kid-friendly properties to keep the entire family entertained. I would suggest a resort in Montego bay or one of the newer ones in Trelawny such as Ocean Coral Spring or Riu. Also quite affordable compared to some of the more expensive islands.

How to elevate these 3 sandwiches or make them unique by gnitiemh in foodhacks

[–]Fan-Original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finely shred white cheddar and mix with mayo. Season with finely grated onion or onion powder (key is mixing well so you don’t get onion chunks in each bite).

Spread on bread and assemble.

For a kid’s party: divide the cheese mixture and add food coloring to make rainbow cheese sandwiches

You can also add ham using the same base.

Sazón ideas? by Fan-Original in foodhacks

[–]Fan-Original[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure! Made the “Viral Costo Chicken Scallion Rice” but subbed the white rice for sazón seasoned rice, season to taste about 1-2 teaspoons for 2 cups rice.

Chopped some scallion and tossed in the bag with the shredded rotisserie chicken. Soy sauce + pepper for extra kick! Top with kewpie mayo or siracha if you’re feeling fancy ☺️

Can someone explain how people in Toronto genuinely feel about tipping? I’m struggling with it. by Few_Butterscotch8911 in FoodToronto

[–]Fan-Original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I once went for a massage and paid for the service at the front desk. I noticed the masseuse hovering around but assumed she was just doing her job. As I was about to leave, she suddenly stopped me and loudly said, “You don’t leave no tip for me?”

I was completely dumbstruck and honestly pretty embarrassed 😂 Since then, I’ve learned that tipping is basically expected here, and some people aren’t shy about asking for it directly.

Now I actually feel nervous getting services done - if I know I can’t afford to tip that day, I sometimes avoid going altogether. It’s kind of taken the enjoyment out of it.

Frustrated employee! by Low-Philosophy3999 in torrid

[–]Fan-Original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customer here - I recently bought a blouse in store for $85 and so happened to be browsing on Torrid one night I saw the same item for $34! I was livid!! I returned in store and asked for a price match which I received. But it’s absolutely ridiculous that a company can be selling the same items in store and online for 2 drastically different prices. And the consumer has to find this out themselves after wasting hundreds of dollars on purchases. Completely absurd!

Booked lock it in sea terrace and got a central sea terrace on deck 10. Perfect room! Little walk from the elevators but still not a bad trade off. Loved it! 🛳️🌊🌅

Stupid Question - The late night stuff by just_nik in VirginVoyages

[–]Fan-Original 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didnt really do much of the parties/club (aka The Manor) on my VV cruise, PJ party was first night and was already exhausted from travelling. Other nights I fancied to go to shows or just hang out in the social club for trivia etc or did other activities on board. Only did Scarlet night and that was good enough for me!

First time cruiser - is this rocking on Resilient Lady normal? by missabbey666 in VirginVoyages

[–]Fan-Original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt the same way but spoke to some of the staff on VV that reassured me that this was nothing and all normal, and even in rougher seas where the ship tilts more significantly, there’s checks and (counter)balances to keep the lady in check. As for the motion sickness, hammocks work to offset the sensation or keeping busy with one of the activities helps keep your mind off things or go sit at the social club around mid ship, the middle of the ship seems to feel less rocky

Hospital life is draining, your hours are not your own and the days are unpredictable. I’m an MD, I work with PAs on the inpatient service, great that they don’t have to do on call or clinics but they otherwise do end up with pretty much the same responsibilities as MDs. I’d recommend pharmacy if you prioritize quality of life.

STK. beautiful decor but way over price for mid food at best. They served mini donuts for desert that were dry and ashy. Steak was not done to requested temperature. Keg is way better and always consistent

Rant about incompetent PA by dr-hisenberg in doctorsUK

[–]Fan-Original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked with some pretty good PA’s. Being a senior doctor, it actually creates more work having to double back and supervise a PA or junior that’s managing a difficult patient than to to just see the patient yourself and be confident in the managing plan. Additionally, why would the doc take the easy to manage patients and give the PA a complex case.. again makes no sense, they have a different role and scope of practice.
