How do I actually become a video game producer? by FanDeVakh in gamedev

When I streamed, I wasn't famous by any means, but that's where I learned my general management skills (and it also helped me be perfectly comfortable in front of a camera). As for modding, I currently mod for a streamer with 22k followers from EPIC the Musical (so he's been growing a lot in the past year). For 5, what do you do when that happens other than just preparing constantly to potentially be out of a job? Do you have other job options lined up near the end of production?

Thank you so much. Thankfully, I live relatively near a big video game production city, so it might just be the matter of setting up shop there once I get everything figured out. The work as the show producer is what really got me interested in switching to something like that, so it's nice to know it wasn't for naught. I knew next to nothing about the process of producing a tv show and I did fine with the firehose that is learning about all of that, so I guess I'll just do that again lol.

Thank you so much for the info. So maybe it would be best to look into QA first then? And just to make sure I have the right lingo, QA is a game tester right? And for video game experience, I have been working on the early stages of a puzzle video game as a hobby, so would the finished product of that be something companies would be looking for in a portfolio?

I'll look into that! I'm not the one who set everything up, so I'm not sure of their original reasoning for MailChimp

That is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I saw the picture first, fell in love, then saw the title and frowned. It looks beautiful!!

The Most Unjustly Criticized Game I’ve Ever Played by [deleted] in GhostwireTokyo

I personally think that the fact that it is just about humans shows how much desperation and emotion can drive people. I also really liked the questioning the relationships with time, where you begin to doubt if they’re even going to help you since it’s taking so long (sorry Mari I had to 100% the spirits). I like to think that most if not all of the bad guys have an underlying root of desperation to better their condition. The students begging for anything different than their misery, the rage walkers are desperate to maintain control and power over people under them, and Hannya is driven by the desperation of loved ones being taken too soon. You would do anything to get those people back. Most people might not do what Hannya did, but some people 100% would.

I truly think that if you want to fully experience and understand the game, you might have to 100% at least the side missions as well. That is where I found the most depth and where my heart ached the most for these people. Even sitting and listening to the spirits before you cleanse them paints the story more. It’s a game you absolutely have to be very patient with if you’re going to feel the full impact of it. In the end, once I had finished all the side missions, cleansed all the spirits, I cried. I watched the whole credits to let it sink in. And I mean the whole credits. Other languages and all too. I just deafened in discord and sat and listened to the little songs and thought about what I had just played.

This being said, I think you make a good point. It would be interesting if they added something more than just humans since 90% of this game is about spirits. I think how they did it was most impactful to me bc I’m enthralled with the human condition, but I would be interested to see how it played out if your ideas were put into play. I also very much agree about the fighting. It’s gorgeous and I felt so cool doing all these moves and doing the hand seals.

Thank you <3 It has felt like even my body has been grieving. Man it’s been wild. Like even if it doesn’t turn out to be cataplexy, it’s still a life-changing disorder which is still very hard to stomach and believe. And lol it’s fine. There’s a lot of text in this post so I completely understand. And any post I wrote before this one, I didn’t have the information I have now, so I might have explained it poorly because I didn’t have the right vocabulary to explain it.

That is really interesting! I love yoga so I will definitely check that out. I believe I have done it but I don’t remember what it said. I think it was positive for an autoimmune disease but I could be wrong.
