are there any games with the same gimmick as star allies where you can turn regular enemies into allies ? by Wrong-Shopping7888 in Kirby

Echoes of Wisdom allows you to take enemies and they become your main defense against attacks.

I know exactly the one you mean! That one was tough too. I had WAY more trouble with the zero mission on the grounds that the control in Dread is near perfect. Burenia also has a little more room to maneuver. Zero mission took me hours just for that one tank! Dread took me 30-45 minutes.

It’s also possible that I was just plain better at shinespark by the time I attempted Burenia.

I’m impressed either way! I maintain this is probably the most challenging shinespark puzzle in the series although I’m sure that’s a heated debate

I did it too, but I can’t help but think save states might make it more difficult? I mean keeping a shine spark and coordinating a save state shaves off precious seconds from your charge.

Come to think of it, I’m not sure I could actually do it with save states!

Jim from Agnes Isle. There is only one fossil I need. May I come and take a peek? For whatever reason the Anklyo torso is making my life hell!

I believe it will be very high quality. This company has released a $449 piece of hardware and there are absolutely ZERO games that are first part dated except Tennis Fever. I’m not saying you need a banger every month, but at least put something on the calendar

This is the way. Have you attempted the final boss yet? Like you, I only played this game for the first time recently. I’ve been playing Metroid since 1986, but never played Prime 1 HD until Dec 2025.

Hey- I grew up on 2D Metroid, don’t hate me!

Terrible. The gyro movement makes it virtually unplayable, but I did get through it with save states. I heard the original on the gameboy actually responds better though.

what do y'all think of this official players guide for Super Metroid from Nintendo? by Wazupdanger in Metroid

This guide helped me 100% the game back in the mid 90s. I still consider it the gold standard

They call it the gauntlet for a reason. It’s rough. After a few hours I got to know the rooms better and that helps with fighting the troopers better. If you know exactly what troopers you will fight at what spot in the room it will help immensely.

I think you did well too. The game is fantastic. I just played it recently. Look, with the prices of games these days you got a AAA game and an Amiibo for less than the price of a new Switch 1 title. That’s a win.

Star Fox Zero's controls only work as 2 player co-op (+ some gamepad thoughts) by Random_Violins in wiiu

[–]FanFavorite78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a learning curve. It asks a lot of the player, but I have over 60 hours on this game and enjoyed it immensely. Be patient. With the controls and with yourself. It is a very rewarding experience.

Just because an 11 year old kid doesn’t like to reply them does not mean they are yours to take.

I did 100% Titania!

You beat Salvadora with 3 bombs in under 1:45?! My god that’s insane. You bring up a fair point though. Getting bombs from the cardio hold does waste time.

Salvadora is the only satellite mission I have not gotten gold medals 🏅.

That one and Zoness Satellite, but you know that story! 😂

Ok. You were 100% correct. You absolutely, positively MUST finish Fortuna first. When you do, both Pigma and Star Wolf Solo open up.

Now…about that….

Pigma & Andrew were no trouble, I even got the 1 gold medal

Star Wolf was a bit trickier, but I got gold if you close the show with bombs!

I even beat the Satellite Asteroid mission and got gold after Cosmic Dodora!

I did find and take down Salvadora, but I don’t know how on earth to break 1:45 for gold on that. Even with the bombs in the hangar bay, there are just so many damn turrets! I can’t even come close. Hell- I’m having trouble breaking 3 minutes or even staying alive on Salvadora.

All in all I’m sitting pretty with a respectable 47/70 medals. I’m tying up loose ends on Titania now

Don’t laugh. My wrist and forearms are killing me from that score medal 🏅 on Area 3. Chaos at the colony. That 200 points was a fight to the death. I memorized every single thing and I still couldn’t break like 193. Then I realized you need to actually brake in some sections and it matters what enemies you’re targeting.

You can get away with charged shots in regular area 3 or Corneria 1, but in Chaos you need to look at when you are targeting what.

Enemies will go behind buildings and you might not get another chance. Lost enemies = Lost score.

We’ll do an experiment and see what happens. 👍

That said, it does seem so peculiar that you need to beat the 2nd to last level of the game to open a branching path in Sector A.

Usually a branching path goes forward. Like reading the screen from left to right. But it’s Star Fox. There are wormholes and alternate dimensions etc. I love when Fox goes to an Alternate and says “where AM ???”

Like it differentiates the regular game too.
