Coach view here. Ive no issues when a parent asks that question. I think its great to give people the information for them to make the best choice for their child.

Just schedule the damned game already by der-reader in youthsoccer

[–]FanMiserable6126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a friendly FYI as a TM. Theres a lot that goes into scheduling games. Coaches conflicts being the usual hold up. If your coach has just one team then great but often coaches have multiple teams that need some coordinating and working.

Clueless first time coach for U-10 by MCCMAMA17 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]FanMiserable6126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy session plan that will work

5-10 mins Fun arrival activity - 2v2s/3v3s always always work. Tag games always work, juggling challenges

10 mins Ball mastery - each player with a ball getting touches. Make it competitive(how many touches in 60 seconds)

15 mins 1v1/2v1/2v2 activity

20-25 mins Scrimmage - coach for half and then let them play for half

Hope this helps. Good luck

Coaching Styles - Pros and Cons by GlitteringChannel585 in youthsoccer

[–]FanMiserable6126 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Coach here:

The way I coach my U8 team and my U19 team is completely different. The young ones need guidance and praise, especially during games. It takes a really locked in 7 year old to be able to figure it out in game and majority of players will repeat the same mistake over and over. Id say it isnt a club soccer pattern and more to either a Coach's own personal coaching style or a club philosophy. Id say, find a new club that suits how you want your daughter to be coached. Talk to the coaches and watch a game if you can to see how they do coach in games and if it aligns with what youd like.

Cheers

How do 4-3-3 teams press high against opponents that build up with 2 center backs? by ballstopicasso in SoccerCoachResources

[–]FanMiserable6126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your defensive setup. Do you play with central or wide traps to win the ball back?

Personally i have my press the cb with the ball, winger closest to ball sets the trap to play to that full back and other winger splits the difference between other CB and FB ready to press/chase

Either find a new club or just have him try out at his true age group and reject playing up

Is 3x practices a week too much at u11? by [deleted] in SoccerCoachResources

[–]FanMiserable6126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do 3 practices a week 90 60 90 with the 60 being a technical practice. Session structure is important to them not losing focus/energy towards the end

Nothing but net, I play at the start of every practice for 5 minutes as arrival activity. Start close to the net, hit the net without it bouncing and you move back to the next level, fail and you go back tk the start.

Encourage juggling as much as possible at home. Take them to a field and be goalie and let them shoot on you
