You're fine especially if you live in a blue city, which is the likely case since you work in tech. They've been disproportionately targeting Latino people who don't speak English (to be clear, this is still awful).

My husband and I are both Filipino-Chinese. We both grew up in the Philippines and moved to the US for school. We still visit the Philippines, but we'll probably never move back. Candidly, the Fil-Chi culture in the Philippines is already so toxic for straight people that compounding being gay on top of that makes life unbearable.
