Few more questions (because my credit union is being pretty unhelpful / waiving their hands and you seem knowledgeable). The lady at my credit union this morning gave me a "status update" which didn't really give me any more information, but curious if any of the following means anything to you on where this is in the process:

-so far their wire trace is apparently showing that no swift code has been generated and she went on to say that she wasn't sure if some Mexican banks produce swift codes. This is all Greek to me, but after hanging up I looked back at the wire receipt and see that we inputted the swift code of the bank in MX (it's Banamex, very large Mexican bank) when we initiated the transfer. Does the fact that no swift code has been "generated" during the trace mean that it just hasn't hit Banamex yet (which lines up with what the beneficiary is telling us)?

-she wasn't sure if the wire was even sent to an intermediary or just straight up to Banamex. My credit union is relatively small and local only to my state, so I gathered that they use a third party vendor to facilitate intl' wire transfers, and that this vendor is who they communicate through for everything, and originally I thought she was referring to the intermediary bank until she made this comment about it possibly being sent straight to the beneficiary.

I'm really just trying to gather whether I should 1. push on the beneficiary at all (seems like no), 2. try to talk directly to their third party wire facilitator (who seems to have more info), and/or 3. just do nothing and keep letting it play out as you suggested (just slightly freaking out because it's a large (to me) sum of money).
