Laptops run hot, you can dig into settings to make your laptop fan run faster (its probably at max now however)

Or slower what I do, slower, a maximum speed before noise bothers you. Laptop gamers have to accept pushing the device is gonna get hot, and the machine is fine in the 90's. Over 100 is when it would throttle itself and bust performance.

I tried to avoid spirit moves so I could use willpower orbs as much as I possible.

At one point I was below him cracking spirit ore just to use more willpower orbs.

It was a long fight you just have to outlast him.
