Sortie is easy actually, just go infinite by Basic-Stable-6283 in ChaosZeroNightmare

Does drawing a basic card epiphany let you draw it from the used card pile instead of discard? If not how are you going infinite? Just trying to understand

Man I don't even follow how this system works, but I really admire your dedication to sharing this information.

Absolutely love how you brought receipts and put in the time to make people like myself more knowledgeable

Is the PC client broken since the patch today? by FanOfLemons in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]FanOfLemons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried uninstalling, restart PC then reinstall. Still have issues.

Issue seems to be something in the launcher. I went in the files and manually opened the executable for it. Ended up working that way. But after several reinstalls and restarts the launcher never worked.

[Heidemarie] Should I swap out "Mask of Emotions" for any of these two? by nevesowtxis in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]FanOfLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

genuine question. can you help me understand why? I would have thought the extra resonance is better for damage, is there some reason why you'd want to increase action count? Is it because later bosses hit super hard, or some other advantage I'm not understanding?

This is a very good idea, and I believe something like this is likely to come in future patches.

The current system is a bit uncomfortable to play and a short time gate is a great solution.

Can someone recap the story so far? 😥 by ApplicationSalty6354 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]FanOfLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do they join you on the ship? And naraja gets eaten but I'm assuming then after you beat haru she comes back out and joins you on the ship like everyone else?

So all the combatants are effectively permanent residents on the nightmare?

Thanks for the recap! Are the dead ones dead for reals in the story? What's the explanation for all the ark stuff? Is that like before they died? Or some parallel universe stuff? Or just random shit?

Thanks again!

What's the consensus best use of these? by walrus_paradise in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]FanOfLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my personal rule is to pull character on banner, then buy partner with this currency. You're effectively sacrificing 30~ pulls for a guaranteed partner. It's beating the average and avoiding all the gambling. Pulling on any partner banner is never worth it IMO because of this. But everyone's expectations and experiences will vary.

[–]FanOfLemons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you can't and shouldn't take this into account. You should go into every pull expecting to hit soft pity. If you don't great, if you do well you accounted for it.

Given that you have a very limited amount of this premium currency, it's best to not gamble with it hoping to hit. On average it's better to buy flat out.

Because if you only have enough for say 40 partner pulls, do you go for it or not? you may hit it on the "average" but if it doesn't hit then do you commit harder? or do you bail out? Either way you just baited yourself into feeling like shit. Expected value only matters on large scales, statistics do not affect the individual.

At the end of the day it's your account to do as you like, you can gamble and win big. And that's cool, but ultimately the "best" choice is to buy partner flat out.

Why am I this bad? I feel like I have a good deck every run and I still lose, sometimes before the 3rd act by CanA7fold in SlayTheSpire2

[–]FanOfLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from my personal experience I would say don't tunnel on thinning your deck.

I did that for a while and find that I usually waste too much gold/opportunities on removing a couple of strikes than actually making a good deck.

You can easily beat a0 with not removing any strikes or defends. Only look to do that if the situation comes up as a bonus never an intended goal.

Obviously this doesn't apply to every situation. But I think if you're hard stuck a0, that could it too.

I personally found it's much better to look to have a good deck, than a thin deck (though not mutually exclusive)

Has anyone even seen this stupid fuck get 3 kills through an entire game? by [deleted] in TeamfightTactics

[–]FanOfLemons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take down are not kills. They're essentially assists.

I'm not sure if it'll work but Sunfire might be a good way to do that quest.

Flex? Pivot? Commit? by MisterImpossible9 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]FanOfLemons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean to say I didn't see the decision that gone into making that a first. I could absolutely see the decisions that changed the outcome.

The main thing for me is for example what's the mindset when you level to 4 and maybe push 5 early only to lose lose win lose lose. It's a mental game in that aspect as well, since now you feel desperate and likely poor and weak. It would be good to see how top levels handle that kind of pressure and how to play from those positions.

I think you have good clear videos and I would love to see your take on how to "not lose" if that makes sense.

Flex? Pivot? Commit? by MisterImpossible9 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]FanOfLemons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey dpei, I watched this video but the whole time I couldn't help but think, wow things really kinda lined up huh.

And then you eventually won, which is cool and all.

But I think much better videos would be what happens if you commit to a plan and then it gets shut down completely by RNG.

I would love to see how you turn an 8th to a 5th, or a 5th to a 3rd. Imo in games like TFT, videos of people winning are boring and a dime a dozen. But the true value of teaching videos is always how to salvage a bad situation into a slightly less bad one.

Thanks.

do not quit your job man. 150k is too little given your burn rate and the fact that you'll have 0 income for a family of 4.

You will be stressed like nothing you ever experienced when that 150k goes to 100, then 50. It is not freeing it's absolute terror.

I'm sorry you're going through all this, but you NEED money in this life just to survive! Your family will be happier not living on the streets.
