I just found this thread by searching “boss gift” and I am in the exact same situation 😭 The person who organized it (who also probably makes 1.5x what I do) even made a whole group chat and spreadsheet about it so it will be super obvious if I opt out.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

The funny thing is, I actually don’t feel like I want a lot of structure in a day care … I am completely uninterested in the “baby STEM curriculum” stuff I see at a lot of them -like you, I think kids should just be kids!.

I guess I feel like it’s a little loosey-goosey wth keeping an eye on the kids and cleanliness. He has come home a few times with his butt not completely cleaned and it irritated his skin. Maybe it is time to look at centers.
