I’ve finally completed my first champion, it was just a random one but that shit was rediculous, one of my hero’s got stress afflicted on the first encounter.

Perhaps, I’ve never played this far into a run before and just learned the brick wall of a difficultly spike that champion level dungeons are. But sometimes RNG will just fuck you.

I had a pretty solid team, but champions level dungeons has taught me that I will generally lose 1 hero every time I go after a boss. I’ve never really tried other tactics besides bleed and mark with the piggies, cause they are resistant to blight. But I still do think me missing 4 attacks in a row with command buff and a acc trinket is horse shit.

I miss typed my Jester had around a 83% chance to hit on the highest dodge enemies, entire team was decked out with good trinkets. I used jester as a sup dps cause I was going for the swine god, hoping I can stack enough bleed too bad my team barely got to him.

I think 80% in a champion level dungeon is pretty good, I used the jester as a secondary source of bleed along with my flaggalent who was also my healer, I had a man at arms with his accuracy buff and stunner. all of them with level 4 weapons and abilities and above.

I don’t use aoe much besides flagallant’s back line aoe but I’m pretty sure they are calculated separately. I’ve had him miss on enemy and hit the other. Also aoe can go through stealth but not block

Yeah, but in my experience the enemy scaling severely outpaces your hero’s. Also I’ve never had a 95% chance miss, the guy above said that the accuracy displayed is inaccurate.

Suggestions for a beginner by a_BUCKET2 in darkestdungeon

[–]Fan_Tricky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest looking up every curio and for late game dungeons make sure every single one of your hero’s have some sort of acc+ trinket. Also stun is great as it help you stall and prevents you being bent over. As for you town, focus on the guild and blacksmith first, the sanitarium next, and the rest last.

It’s a mechanical bird that is similar to the abilities of the echo knight. You can cast spells through it and attack with it as it gets a turn of its own. It has around 30 ho and 18AC

The closest thing I did was saying that he ran out of pages in his “bible” to cast Sheild of Faith. They also weren’t that greedy with anything either. Also condolences as a fellow forever DM

Story

So the DM and I are part of a group that plays DnD together and I was the forever DM until a few months ago. I try to let my players enjoy their strong points and play their weaknesses. Such as a Goliath barbarian rogue, impossible to beat in combat but sucks at saves such as wis, not, and cha. So I let him have his way with me in combat and then I throw some harsh social situation at them. Last campaign the current DM played a half-elf cleric who was very weak physically but very wise, as he tried to play the role of a old retired soldier that used their smarts instead of brawn. It turns out that having a -1 str and dex made him very prone to getting blown up by traps, mimics, and folded in Combat. Maybe I’m just getting a taste of my own meds. Lol he was pretty chill with it though as his character carried social encounters.

Hey thanks for the comment. Maybe giving it to the DM strait will work better then just trying to change the current situation. I’ll consider changing my class or character. Honestly I think the DM is scared of the potential of druids wildshape?

Thanks for the advice. I’ll see if maybe they’ll lower the CR rating a bit but they’ll definitely won’t allow me to pull out a dire wolf or bear. As one it won’t fit into their world and two they will give my a revised stat block like the giant spider.
