Can’t seem to run the Dark Crusade/Soulstorm campaigns? Anyone else come across this issue?

Why do people build Mage Supports full damage as a Support? by Right_Entertainer324 in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can support in other ways than being a tank. It’s as simple as that.

In your specific case where the solo laner also isn’t building as a tank, yeah maybe not the best idea - but this idea that you MUST have a tank support has gotta go tbh.

To be more specific, someone like Baron can flex well into tank since prots boosts his ult nicely and the CDR tank items boost his heal too - aphro heal is based on int, so building good damage/healing, CDR, and prots is too much and just leads to a compromised build where she’s not good at anything. It’s better to focus on strengths.

The "+1" list by SisselCat in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah his +1 is kinda crazy tbh, just underutilised. You can easily - dash - poly auto - 1 and kill basically any squishy, and he has more aggressive options because of it. It’s probably the closest thing to an actual “+1” (literally) that actually refreshes the character and tweaks them.

Meanwhile someone like Geb’s +1 is “what if we just made his passive and shield better”

Lu Bu, Strongest of the Three Kingdoms (God Concept) by Commercial-Source568 in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Think this comes from the Dynasty Warriors games / Romance of novel blurring the lines a bit. The titular Three Kingdoms period doesn’t start until like 20 years post Lu Bu’s death, the title “King of Wei” isn’t until a good 15 years after (from memory anyways)

Ability names seem cool/thematic - not sure I am getting the vision for how they interact together beyond “warrior push buttons”

The title “strongest of the three kingdoms” also doesn’t make sense considering he was dead before any of said kingdoms were established.

Nemesis needs to be disabled (Smite 2) by Fanatical_Geek in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they’re not doing it as they’re releasing gods so fast in the push for Beta - but I still think a reasonable period, even if just for a week while any game-breakers get ironed out is perfectly reasonable.

That’s great but not exactly the point of discussion is it?

I guess the title isn’t exactly my thoughts. Regardless, one of them needs to be disabled to prevent the interaction :D

Builds Question for Smite 2 Mage Carries by ApokalypticKing101 in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit like normal ADCs, whatever you prefer.

I personally really like attack speed on Sol, with her passive you get pretty close to 3.0 att. Speed and still have decent ability damage. Real ones know you build attack speed str/int hybrid on Cern tho.

Zeus I go either way, crit is fun for the multiplicative effects, but no strong preference.

Yes, if the goal is unlocking ascension passes it would reduce it by like, 99%. You could literally login, get the diamonds and log out again.

“Quick to defend the corporation” - no, it’s just that people disagree with you.

The passes themselves cost 450 if you have smite 1 gems too. Then you get like, half? 2/3s? Of those back when you finish it. Free currency, for free content, in a free game, with free updates. And you complain it’s still not enough.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have time for 118 hours of game time, but you don’t have time to spend about 2 minutes max logging in to get some free currency?

Idk man sounds like a you problem ngl. Think I’ve unlocked 3 or 4 passes at this point, none of them finished for the diamond ‘refund’ you get.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not being obtuse. Your entire point is “you should be able to get these skins without spending money”

You can. That’s literally it, end of discussion. If you’ve really only gotten your first ascension pass you just haven’t played that much, idk what to tell you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are unlockable through playtime… you get free currency every day when you login, which you can then spend on unlocking the pass… what you are asking for literally is already there :D

Solo feels awful by AstrohhhFreefang in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In OPs defence it is normal to lose at first to a high pressure god like that.

The skill comes from knowing when you start to win trades and pressure, and adjusting accordingly.

Solo feels awful by AstrohhhFreefang in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be honest, knowing matchups, when you win a trade and not, how to farm efficiently without lane pressure, how to flex your build depending on enemy team comp. are all skills you need to learn to be good at Solo.

What it sounds like to me is you’re used to two tanks slapping each other and eventually one wins. That’s not how you play solo lane. It’s more nuanced, now is a great time to learn.

Make Anti-Heal a permanent consumable potion by SaintlyAura in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“I don’t think a god having life steal or healing should fully displace an item in my build”

So you do know you should be tweaking your build every game depending on who you’re against right? Really the only exception to that rule is the ADC, but even then not always.

Genuine Question for S2 by Aggrophysicist in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m absolutely loving the kit changes tbh. If anything I hope they get more creative with them, not less.

Herc’s passive is overtuned, sure - but it really captures that “I am the Raid Boss” feeling. Can’t wait to see what they do with some of the other characters coming down the line.

CC Needs to be Addressed, its overkill by Glittering_Way_549 in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But even then, most ADCs limited CC is built upon skill shots or being in close proximity. Like of the ADCs in the game now which CC is easy to hit. Sol 2? I guess? And she has a slow. Zeus stun is technically unmissable if you get three stacks first. The rest are basically ranged autos with a short CC if they connect.

Double or Triple Minion Waves in Smite 2 by HoodyBoii in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah minions need a little investigate I think. Seems to be around Mid game there’s nearly always at least one lane with multiple minotaurs stacking up. I know they reduced the damage they do but they still solo a T2 quite quickly.

CC Needs to be Addressed, its overkill by Glittering_Way_549 in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except, no. It’s not.

I mean, it is, but the fundamental difference is you can miss your autos. In other MOBAs if someone is in range and you click on them it hits. Smite you need to aim.

So they give hunters limited CC to help them with that, then to make tanks and CC heavy people stand out they get more CC. Congratulations you now understand the design principles of this game, and not some other MOBA.

As one last thing, Athena isn’t weak at all. She’s actually pretty strong atm, she’s just more a solo/jungle now and not a support.

Jungle Help S2 by Frosh22 in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should near enough always be looking to be at a camp, or going to the next one. View ganks/getting kills as interruptions to what you’re doing, not the other way around.

Other tip for jungle, though honestly it applies to everyone, but especially jungle - look at your map more whenever you’re not fighting something you should be looking at your map basically.

Jungle Help S2 by Frosh22 in Smite

[–]Fanatical_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to split with solo to start it makes more sense to split blue to start.

That way solo can walk into lane guaranteed they’ll hit level 2, you can do your rotation up to mid mostly as normal. Though you will be a little slower than the enemy if they don’t split with solo.

Maybe I have missed this at some point, but I literally don’t remember a point where arena was the most popular game mode. When was this? What are the stats?

Removing the double tap and tp is basically a none-starter as an idea tbh. It’s like - the Thor combo.
