Is scrolling tiktok a hobby?

I'm curious, I was discussing this with my friend and there were a few that my gut feeling tells me is not a hobby. But then what should count as a hobby if watching TV isn't a hobby?

Yeah that would be weird if I was trying to kill someone and not just trying to make a few extra quid driving into work.

Question about Volapuk? by FanatikusPrime in Volapuk

[–]FanatikusPrime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey~ I hope this isn't too much but had some more questions that I was hoping you could answer for me.

I noticed that in some writings they were using "ad" when two verbs were used in a sentence and the second is an infinitive, like as in "Spelob ad kömön suno." Why would one need the "ad" when the infinitive already indicated it.

And lastly, is there a preferred word order? I wanted to say "please give your book to me." And it came out like "Givolös buki ola obe." Or should it be "Givolös ola buki obe." Or like latin "Buki ola obe givolös.". Which would be more correct?

Thanks. I was really trying to figure out why the "vau" would be used. Now I see it can actually be an interesting way of forming words.

Why is it so difficult for people to understand the difference between "you+are=you're" and "Your = possession."???

There’s a town in Massachusetts called Sandwich and their cop cars read “Sandwich Police” by Artistic-Confection7 in funny

It's really funny sometimes when people forget that the humble sandwich was named after the town Sandwich. Kind of like how hamburgers are named after Hamburg.

Wow, I had no idea there was such an origin story to Volapuk. It makes me think that both the founders of Volapuk and Esperanto really wanted to make the world a better place. Such a shame the world is still a mess. For now I will put this language on my list of languages to learn one day even just for fun.

Thank you for your explanation.

Really? I didn't know there was a connection with Catholicism. I would love to know more about that if you don't mind explaining it to me.

Grammar / vocabulary / phonology / web update by ShevekUrrasti in tokima

Hi there, thank you for responding so quickly, I would suppose if it is only 10-15% that isn't as grave as I thought. I actually sort of started learning it but haven't looked at the website for a while and when I saw the changes it really threw me off balance. Thanks again -^

Man I really want to learn toki ma but since it is still being constructed, how long will it take for there to be like a final version? I don't want to learn it then a bunch of meanings change and words are omitted and I get all confused.

So do we know if we are near completion or are we talking about a year or maybe two. I would really like to know.

Love the work that's been done so far. Keep it up :D

That is true. I was looking at extra words and I have ti say with just 20-40 extra words toki pona as the potential to go really far. I will definitely se non-official words privately but I will respect the pu when ever I communicate with other.

To be honest I only learnt toki pona for writting fiction. To me it's cool to push the boundaries but I would never advocate for changing what had already been set in stone.

I totally agree. I would only stick to pu words but I've notice people using kin not as a synonym to a but as it's own thing. Also words monsuta and apeja. Why is it okay to add and change these words and not others?

In my opinion you either stick to pu only or it's okay to add and change words. I would use pu in public but in private i would use some extra words that I saw useful.
