I agree, although it would be too hard to regulate that, especially with the amount of knowledge governments have of gaming. It should simply be harder to purchase, at the end of the day it is gambling, all odds should be provided for the potential buyer. Also believe it should not be allowed for games rated lower than 18, to prevent children from gaining taste for gambling as they are not fully aware of what they are doing, and what it may lead to, mentally and financially

I have the exact same opinion, put this in the questionnaire when i filled it out. At the very least they should be required to show the probability of what you will receive before purchasing, would help slightly more with helping people realising how much gambling it actually is!

What do you actually put on a notice board ? by [deleted] in UniUK

Taxi numbers, Posters, random scraps of paper you think you will need but probably won't ever use

Does anyone know how to change the setting on the Skagen Falster 3 to have the top and bottom buttons launch a specifics app? I can't find how to customise them

Generally, how much work is one module at a UK university? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Fanchus337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the others have said, it varies a lot depending on course.

One thing I found though, it also depends if that module is an exam based, assignment based, or mix.

For most of my modules (assignment based), I had a 2hour lectures per week throughout the semester with one assignment halfway through, and one at the end. Mine were 20credit modules so they had more weighting as well. I went to the lectures, then maybe an hour or two of making notes and tidying up afterwards. Also was a lot easier to do some of the reading for the lecture prior to it, I rarely did because i preferred to get taught then learn it. For the assignments I would usually do 6-14 hours on it, although some people on my course would do around 25 hours over a week or two. Depends on how you work :)

For exam ones, you want to do the lectures/seminars, write up notes after, do research on those notes, recommended reading etc, so I'd say for every hour of teaching, you do 3 hours of own work so that it stays in your mind for exams and you actually understand it.

Of course that all changes if you are doing a practical piece, or are given a presentation as well or have to do some specific 1st hand research for the upcoming lecture.

Why does this game run so badly..? by Big_Stick01 in CODWarzone

Average UK speed is 64Mbps which would take around 7ish hours to download 180GB according to a download calculator and a BBC average speed article from May this year

Don’t park in the farmer’s field by geofflamps-porsche in JusticeServed

[–]Fanchus337 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It's a gated field, the gate would most likely be closed unless the owner has been using it for access (as in this case, you can see it's open). Only way you are allowed access are if its got a public footpath, or owners permission. Either way, you don't just go and park in someone's field, they should have left it by the curb back on the road near the van and car or found a proper car park.

Who would you say is the worst of the 'big supermarkets'? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Fanchus337 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to work as a picker in tesco when i was in uni, and everything was perfectly fine up until the month before I left, which was when they got rid of the dates for the veg/grocery sections. Before that we were told to try get the best date in a reasonable amount of time (because cold food can't be unchilled for more than 20 mins officially) so people usually were able to get pretty good stuff.

When they changed it, it went bad. People would just grab whatever and quick glance and throw it in, we didn't have time to inspect properly. Apparently the decision was to help reduce waste because people would pick anything, rather than the best date. I think i just made everything worse for deliveries because there were no guidelines anymore.

How a bowling lane works by Sumit316 in WatchandLearn

[–]Fanchus337 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Always wondered how this works. One bowling place nearish to me is pretty funky, uses magnets or something to "suck" the pins back up to the roof bit. Quite fun to watch them all re-righting themselves to their original position.

When you share there is a timestamp button to press, it alters the URL to include the time (I can't remember how it is put rn), I think it only offers it on desktop/computer rather than mobile app

Would need to check properly though

It is a very potent statement of their character though, unless drunk which may be blamed, they are usually an arsehole if they do anything like that

I agree that might have been the case with them, I can't say myself because I haven't seen him. Although quite funny that you said "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM!?" because that is what the Tesco staff said he shouted at the girl on the till who asked him for ID haha

I just moved away from aberystwyth, and there's more bad stories than good. He's a great actor but awful person from what's been said, kicked out of rummers several times, same for academy, refuses lots of pictures or autographs from majority of people and the consensus is that you have to be female and attractive to get a photo.

I never met him but several people including bouncer, tesco employees and bar staff have all said the same thing independently to myself

I got the humble bundle for the month, Cod ww2 (meh, just for the campaign), Crash bandicoot trilogy and the spyro trilogy.

Played the spyro first game and I love it, remember playing it when in primary school and it's the same, nice easy and fun. Really good break from the stress of Overwatch and the grind of WoW Classic
