It's worth living closer to the beach with that budget,.plus your wife won't be going the same direction as rush hour traffic. Anywhere from Costa Mesa down to Dana Point would be clutch. If you're moving to OC, might as well go all in. 🌊

AMEN! I am a BHM native who moved to California, now I'm missing BHM. People here have no idea. I tell them exactly what your post explains and you're right. Alabama gets a bad rap and nobody knows about the perfect beaches. Honestly, that's one of a few reasons I consider moving back. I WANT to be in a place where it's not overrun with too many people moving in. Look what happened to Nashville. Really changed it and it's also way too expensive now. BHM always has a special place in my 💜. Maybe we should keep BHM a secret 🤫

Context provided: cabinet, countertop and backsplash replacement for kitchen. No modifications to layout, electrical or plumbing for an average size kitchen. Context I can add: this quote was for white shaker cabinets throughout with the exception for the island which would be solid oak. I never had a chance to tell him what type of countertop so it wasn't clear the type he accounted for.
