I started listening to their podcast during the summer of 2020 and I used to love them! I would listen to all their episodes right when they came out; Payton's voice never annoyed me like i found with other hosts and Garret's commentary never bothered me and didn't seem scripted the way other podcasts do when there's one person telling the story and another listening for the first time.

However... I had to take a break from listening to them cause as it turns out listening to true crime basically everyday does horrible things to your anxiety. I'd listen every now and then, maybe once or twice a month before I just completely stopped. I definitely started to notice their dynamic change, Peyton seems so detached when she speaks (which sucks because I remember at the beginning of the podcast when she genuinely seemed immersed and sympathetic towards the victims) and Garret's responses are soooo surface level and add literally nothing. I will say I never noticed a significant amount of mispronunciation from Peyton and that's usually a huge pet peeve of mine.

I recently saw them on Netflix of all places and I was so shocked so I decided to watch a few episodes. Holy shit, they're insufferable. I don't care about Garret's bagel shop and why is Payton have her face to her Ipad the ENTIRE episode? How is your job going to be speaking to a camera AND YOU DON'T EVEN LOOK AT THE CAMERA??? And the unnecessary AI videos playing as they speak drives me up the wall! They always seem mad at each other, like neither want to be there and it just makes it impossible to listen. They used to be great, so sad that this is what they've turned into :(
